New Zealand rejects radical leftist Jacinda Ardern's party

Although she bailed out of running again at the last minute the shadow of former Labour prime minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern  caused her party to hemorage seats in the country's parliamentary election and return a coalition of conservative parties to power.  Ardern ran one of the most rigid Covid lockdown regimes in the world, instituted a draconian gun ban, and openly pushed to crush free speech.

Labour lost 28 of the 62 seats it held in the outgoing parliament.

The new government will be headed by the traditional conservative New Zealand National Party, which won 50 seats, up from 34, to make it the largest party in the new parliament, partnering with the populist / nationalist New Zealand First Party and the libertarian conservative ACT Party, both of which gained seats in the election.  Some accounts say that they will only need one coalition partner.  One seat will be voted on later as a candidate died during the campaign, and that seat is likely to go to the right.

On the same day,  Australian voters overwhelmingly rejected a racist Constitutional amendment that would have given aborigines special status in the country.

It is expected that the new government in New Zealand will repeal Ardern's gun control laws and create protections against future medical tyranny.
