Israel Pounds Iranian-Backed Terrorist Targets Inside Gaza, Lebanon, Syria | Eastern NC Now

    Israel struck numerous terrorist targets on Sunday inside Gaza as it faces the threat of Iranian-backed terrorist groups escalating attacks emanating from Syria and Lebanon.

    The strikes against the terror targets comes after Hamas, an Iranian-backed Palestinian terrorist group inside Gaza, launched unprecedented attacks against Israel earlier this month, killing more than 1,400 and wounding more than 5,200. More than 200 people were kidnapped and remain hostage.

    Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that it attacked buildings belonging to Hamas, anti-tank positions, military observations, and terrorists near the coastline.

    The IDF eliminated numerous Hamas terrorists near the Erez crossing after they came out of a tunnel the they were hiding in and engaged in fighting against Israeli forces.

    The IDF also conducted numerous strikes to the north of the country in Lebanon, where Iranian-backed terrorists from Hezbollah have launched small scale attacks against Israel for the last couple of weeks. There is fear that Hezbollah could launch a much larger attack in the coming days since they are more of a serious fighting force than Hamas.

    Strikes against Hezbollah included neutralizing a terror cell that tried to fire an anti-tank missile at Israel.

    The IDF also struck a site in the Mount Dov area where Hezbollah terrorists were planning missions to against Israel and where they also had launched rockets.

    "In the attack, many weapons were also destroyed with which the terrorists planned to carry out additional launches towards Israeli territory," the IDF said. "Following the initial report on the alert in the north of the country, three launches were detected from Lebanese territory towards Israeli territory, the air defense fighters successfully intercepted two launches, another launch fell in an open area. IDF forces respond by firing at the sources of the shooting."

    The IDF also struck Iranian-backed terrorists in Syria that launched rockets at Israel and anti-tank missiles at Israel.
