climate insanity - It's too cold for electric buses | Eastern NC Now

Among the many deficiencies of electric vehicles is that they do not perform well in cold weather.  Now a city in Sweden which has been in a rush to replace its diesel buses, which have worked just fine in the cold for many years, with electric buses is having to curtail or cancel bus service just when the public needs it most in extremely cold weather.  Their excuse for the replacement?  "The climate" of course.

It seems to even start an electric bus in the cold temperatures, the whole bus has to be brought indoors and warmed up.  Even if they can finally get one started, it performs poorly in the cold weather and will not run long.

Even worse was the experience of Paris, which has had several electric buses have their batteries spontaneously combust and burn up the bus.   When it happened to one that fortunately was between runs in a public place with lots of video, they took all of their electric buses out of service.  Here is a compilation of some of the video which shows just how fast these fires progress:

This would have been a mass casualty event if the bus had been driving down the road with passengers onboard when the fire broke out.  Biden is trying to put thse things out there in America as school buses.  Would you let your kids ride on one of them?
