Potential for Hazardous Weather Next Tuesday | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

    Good Evening Everyone,

Our office is currently monitoring the forecast of an approaching cold front that is expected to bring windy conditions, rain and the possibility of severe storms to eastern NC on Tuesday. The most significant impact appears to be 24 to 36 hrs of sustained winds between 25 and 35 with gust of 45+ for most of the day Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. Winds will begin as SE and transition to the south, SW and eventually west before subsiding late Wednesday afternoon. These wind conditions are expected to bring elevated water levels to our waterways Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. While the current forecast does not appear to be as significant as the storm we experienced several weeks ago, we are still early in the forecast window for this event. We hope to provide additional details in subsequent updates.

Please see the email below and attached briefing from the National Weather Service for more information.

As always, thank you all for what you do to keep Beaufort County informed, prepared and safe.
