McConnell backs Biden over GOP House Speaker Johnson on budget issues | Eastern NC Now
Latest stab in the back by serial backstabber McConnell
When the House and Senate's top Democrat and top Republican met with Joe Biden on budget and related issues, conservative House Speaker Mike Johnson found himself alone in the discussions because Mitch McConnell, allegedly "Republican" leader in the Senate sided consistently with Biden and the Democrats. That was true on both money issues and border / immigration issues. McConnell has always been known to put the wants of the special interests ahead of the wants of the voters of his own party, so maybe this latest betrayal in not so surprising. He has done similar things many times before, stabbing his own party and its voters in the back.
UPDATE: McConnell has announced he will not seek the position of GOP Senate leader for the next Congress. GOOD RIDDANCE!
