VA school board restores Confederate names to two schools | Eastern NC Now

reverses 2020 cancel culture move against Southern history

ENCNow

The Shennandoah County School Board in Virginia has restored the original names honoring Confederate leaders to two schools, reversing a 2020 name change.  Stonewall Jackson High School and Ashby-Lee Elementary School now have their names back.

In 2020 duirng the George FLoyd insurrection, Virginia's then Democrat governor asked school boards to remove the names of Confederate leaders from schools, and Shennandoah County knuckled under.  An attempt in 2022 to reverse the move failed 3 to 3 on the school board, but the three who voted against it were defeated for re-election.

Good for that county school board. When is Fort Bragg going to get its name back? Greg Murphy betrayed us big time on voting for that bit of cancel culture. And speaking of Murphy, when are we going to get a strong conservative primary challenger to that RINO dud? Man, I wish we still have Walter Jones, a congressman we could be proud of.
