‘Dangerously Liberal:’ New Trump Ad Takes Aim At Harris Over Border Crisis | Eastern North Carolina Now

    A new ad from the Trump campaign calls his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, "failed, weak, and dangerously liberal."

    The spot takes aim at Harris over the southern U.S. border, accusing her of failing to address the flow of hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants into the country despite being tapped by President Joe Biden to deal with the border crisis.

    "This is America's border czar," the ad begins, "and she's failed us."

    "Under Harris, over 10 million illegally here," the ad says. "A quarter of a million Americans dead from fentanyl, brutal migrant crimes, and ISIS now here."

    The ad pulls an infamous clip from Harris' interview with NBC's Lester Holt in which the anchor asked the vice president whether she had any plans to visit the southern border.

    "You haven't been to the border," Holt noted during the June 2021 interview just five months after Biden took office.

    "And I haven't been to Europe," Harris responded, laughing. "I mean I don't understand the point that you're making."

    Last week, the media backtracked on calling Harris the "border czar," a title they had given her back in 2021 when she was tasked with finding a solution to surging illegal immigration.

    Since Biden dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Harris, the Trump campaign has worked to tie her to the administration's unpopular immigration policy.

    Earlier this year, immigration surged to become the top issue on voters' minds, bumping inflation down to second place, polls showed.

    Upon taking office, President Biden reversed many of former President Donald Trump's border policies aimed at slowing the flow of illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border, including the Remain in Mexico policy, which forced illegal migrants to stay on the Mexican side of the border while they awaited asylum hearings.

    Overall, around 12 million migrants have entered the country illegally under the Biden administration.

    There have been more than 9.5 million migrant encounters as well as about 1.7 million illegal migrant gotaways, according to immigration authorities.


    New York City has seen an influx of more than 180,000 illegal migrants over the past two years and is still housing many of them. Chicago is currently paying to shelter about 13,000 of the more than 44,000 migrants who have arrived in the city over the last two years. Both cities have scrambled to find housing as their finances were squeezed.

    Harris has yet to sit down for a long-form interview on immigration or any other issue since announcing her intention to "earn" the Democratic nomination.

Since the Democratic Socialist campaign message has been that the Republican nominee, "Donald Trump is a threat to Democracy," is it not exceedingly ironic that the leadership of the Democratic Socialist party is endeavoring to remove their presumptive nominee - Joseph R. Biden, though elected - as their candidate for the presidency of the United States?

  The Democratic Socialists reserve the right to always be incredibly flexible in all matters pertaining to communicated core ideals.

  The Democratic Socialists are long on hyperbolic promise, but way short on purposeful performance, ergo, they are grand hypocrites of the first order.

  None of this really matters.
