Dem Lt. Gov. candidate Hunt takes racist swipe at Mark Robinson in TV ad | Eastern NC Now

The Democrat nominee for NC lieutenant governor has put out a TV ad that takes a racist swipe at the black man who is the current holder of that office.  Democrat Rachael Hunt is a white liberal and daughter of ultra-liberal former NC Governor Jim Hunt.  She is running against Hal Weatherman, who was chief of staff to former NC Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest.

Hunt's ad takes aim at current Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, who is also NC's first black holder of that office.  In the ad, Hunt pulls a bottle of bleach out of a janitor's closet and says she will need that to clean Robinson's office if she is elected.  That implies that the black man is at least dirty, if not disease ridden.

A number of Republicans, including Weatherman and Robinson, have called out the ad as racist.
