We need to tighten up the voter registration process to prevent these easily done fraudulent registrations. Online registration should never be allowed nor should mail-in forms. The previous system where a registrant had to appear before an official and swear to their information and qualifications was a much better system as it made it very difficult to any fake voters. Not only could one go to the board of elections to do that, but each precinct had three precinct officials empowered to register voters. On top of that, each county board of elections could appoint special registration commissioners empowered to register voters and generally appointed such commissioners for each party and sometimes for civic groups like the NAACP. Each official who registered a voter had to sign the form, so if fake registrations started coming in, it was clear who was responsible and action could be taken.

That the Democrats are fighting this is very, very telling about what they want to do.

Turning in a mass of registrations at the last minute is a classic far-left Cloward-Piven tactic to try to overwhelm the system so that they would not have the time to check these bogus registrations. Any legitmate voter registration campaign would have been turning these in all along as they were signed up, not holding them to try to jam them through in a mass at the last minute. I hope that criminal investigatoin results in convictions and long jail sentences for these scammers who are attacking our democracy in this way.

One remembers the ACORN scandal some years ago when ACORN was operating nationally turning in loads of fraudulent voter registrations. Community organizer Barack Obama was involved at one point with ACORN although apparently not when they were on the fake voter registration kick. Now, we seem to have other organizations out taking up where they left off.

Criminal laws need to be amended to provide for extremely seevere sentences for anyone involved in fraudulent voter registration. Jail them until they are old and gray.
