Fani Willis removed from Trump case by Georgia Appeals Court | Eastern NC Now
death knell for the case?
The Georgia Court of Appeals has ruled decisively against partisan Democrat Fulton County DA Fani Willis on her attempted prosecution of Donald Trump is a politically motivated trumped-up case. It has ordered her removed from the case, ruled that Willis is "totally disqualified from this case" citing "an odor of mendacity" to the case.
While prosecutors from another district could technically jump in and continue it, most observers view that as unlikely, so this is likely the death knell of this political prosecution. Willis hired a number of Democratic political operatives in her office and her own boyfriend to pursue this politicized case. Willis also is facing court orders to turn over communications with the Jack Smith prosecutors and the Nancy Pelosi January 6 Committee in Congress over collusion in going after Trump.
Willis is the daughter of a former Black Panther terrorist.
