CDU's Chancellor Merz says Germany is "immigration nation" and "will stay that way" | Eastern NC Now

reverses campaign promises

In his campaign for parliament earlier this year, Freidrich Merz, leader of the former  ly conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), promised a strong crackdown on illegal immigration "on Day One".  That stance on the biggest issue for voters carried his party to first place in the election.  However, it was only the day after the election that Merz started changing his tune on immigration.

Instead of forming a coalition with the staunchly anti-immigration Alternativ fur Deutschland (AfD) which finished in second place, Merz ignored them and formed a government with the third place pro-migration leftwing Social Democrats instead.  The coalition agreement reflected Social Democrat policies and abandoned all of the main issues the CDU had campaigned on.

Now, in Merz first major speech to the Bundestag (parliament), he declared that "Germany is a country of immigration.  It was, it is, and it will stay that way."  He offered no programs or policies whatsoever to deal with the illegal immigration problem.

While Merz campaigned on keeping illegal aliens from entering Germany, he has not done that.  What his authoritarian government HAS done is to ban anti-immigration activists from leaving Germany to attend a "remigration" (deportation) conference in Milan, Italy, arresting them at the  airport and banning them from leaving Germany until the conference was over.  This represents a Fourth Reich totalitarian mentality by Merz.

Germans are getting fed up with Merz and his party which clearly lied to them in the campaign.  The result is that polls now show the anti-immigration right AfD to be the most popular party in the country.  This in spite of over 60% of voters in the recent election voting for parties that promised a crackdown on illegal immigration.

In retrospect, voters should have been concerned about this betrayal in spite of Merz' campaign promises.  Merz went into business when he lost a power struggle for party control to Angela Merkel and only returned after Merkel retired, and during that time he went into business.  However, the company he joined was the notoriously globalist Blackrock, led by WEF acolyte, the aptly named  Larry Fink.

Illegal immigration is a real mess in Germany with huge spikes in crime and 63% of the welfare budget spent on illegal aliens. Merz has revealed himself as a flunky of the globalists. He has probably destroyed his party with this betrayal of the voters. Hopefully, he has not also destroyed the country as well.
