Disgusting SCOTUS wimps out and punts on Alien Enemies Act deportations | Eastern NC Now

The US Supreme Court set a clear precedent in 1948 on the Alien Enemies Act, on a deportation by the Truman administration during peacetime.  The SCOTUS ruled that the executive branch had absolute authority under that act on deportations and the court system had no jurisdiction to hold hearings on any deportations the president ordered under the act.

Now, our pathetic excuse for a Supreme Court is pandering to illegal alien criminal terrorists and to Democrat politicians to severely weaken that precedent if not end it entirely. What they allowed President Truman to do, they will not allow President Trump to do.  To make matters worse, Truman was deporting a legal immigrant with a green card who had come legally and Trump is not allowed to use the act the same way on illegal aliens who should not even be in the country in the first place. 

While the ruling is still somewhat murky, it is a foot in the door for the hard left that wants to flood our country with illegal aliens. It says that the illegal aliens must be given time to hire lawyers.  That implies but does not say that the lawyers can demand hearings.  Our disgusting Supreme Court has sided with violent illegal alien criminal gangs / terrorists against the American people.

Only the two Reagan appointees, Thomas and Alito, stood firm to enforce the court's precedent.  The other seven, including all three of Trump's appointees, voted to water it down.  There is still a question of how much it will ultimately be watered down.
