GOVERNMENT IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

BY:  HOOD RICHARDSON

Nobody said it better than Barak Obama, “Elections have consequences”. His election certainly did. His major accomplishment was to give us socialized medicine without us knowing it was happening. This is one reason medical costs are sky high. The government sets the prices.

The consequences from the Bush family of presidents were to continue the dull thud of Democrat socialism. Not much changed, did it.

Biden put the communists and socialists in control of what was left of government after his family and the Clintons sold it to foreigners. He left no doubt there are a lot of people intent on destroying American Capitalism and the work ethic. This fits the communist and socialist dogma. Those who want to destroy our government plan to make their living either from government employment (They will be controlling the rest of us) or from handouts from the new socialist/communist government they establish. Work has become so much of a dirty word.

Today, most of the Trumpers subscribe to capitalism, the work ethic and looking out after yourself. I believe two thirds of the nation is conservative. This is supported by the 2024 election results. However, it is surprising how many people support socialist programs, government handouts, subsidies and a multitude of assistance and support giveaways.

Many conservatives expect Trump to cast out all of this nation’s socialist/communist habits. He can and will do a lot. His time is limited to four years, and he can only work on the federal level of government. We still have the same state and county elected officials and activist staff we had in place before the November elections last year. Nothing outside the federal level has changed. Almost all elected officials and employees are the same who supported all of those give away programs, bad education programs and open borders during the last 20 or 30 years.

In order to have real change and lasting change a lot of state and local elected officials have to be replaced. Along with them, a lot of hired help in high positions need to go also.

There is a tendency within the Republican camp for people to think those who have an “R” behind their name on the ballot must be true Republicans. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are a multitude of Democrats and liberal socialists who claim to be Republicans, act conservative during election campaigns and then turn into RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) as soon as they are elected.

The closing of the Snowden school exposed many RINOs (Republican In Name Only). We already knew Fake Frankie Waters and Randy Walker were closet Democrats. They have voted with Democrats for years, but they have the support of the Beaufort County Republican Party. Walker and Waters get away with this because trusting rank and file Republicans are under the false impression that the Republican Party vets candidates and makes sure only real Republicans run for office. The reality is that the Republican Party is eat up with RINOs.

The Snowden school closing exposed Gary Carlton and Don Shreve to be RINOs. There are other RINOs on the school board but these two are up for re-elections next year. The Beaufort County Conservative Club gave heavy support to both of these individuals because they represented that they were running for office because of their conservative beliefs and they would help make changes to put the school board in control of the schools, teach cursive writing, old math, eliminate DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), critical race theory, sexual orientation, bring us back to neighborhood schools and text books. They never told the truth. They have not lifted their finger to try to make a change. They show severe stress when approaching any of these issues. Basically, they do not have what it takes to serve on any board, much less a school board. Had they voted as they represented themselves to be, the Snowden school would not be closed. The Beaufort County Conservative Club is looking forward to supporting the candidates who will replace them in the 2026 elections.

These are not the only elected officials who need replacing with true conservatives. There will be three other school board vacancies in the 2026 elections, another two need replacement. There will be three Beaufort County commissioner vacancies, two need replacing. The US Senate seat held by Thom Tillis needs a true conservative in it.

The liberals within the Republican Party will try to discourage true conservatives from entering the primary. Registration to run in the November 2026 election begins in December of 2025, yes that is before Christmas. We have five full months to recruit candidates. That is adequate time to find and vet candidates. Primary elections are good because they allow the members of the various political parties to get to know candidates and pick the best of the lot. The rank and file of the Republican Party in Eastern North Carolina is Trump conservative. The difficult task is sorting out the phony conservatives from the real thing. The rule of thumb is, if there is any question the person in office has not done their job, vote for a replacement. Politicians do not own those elected positions; they belong to the public.

Conservative candidates who are considering running for office are invited to contact any member of the Conservative Club for assistance. If the Beaufort County Republican Party tries to talk you out of running, they are protecting their RINO.

During the past 30 years the voting public has evolved from majority Democrat to voting conservative Republican. There are a lot of “unaffiliated” voters who vote conservative. Being unaffiliated means that person does not belong to any political party. This is understandable when the behavior and ethics of some elected officials is considered. Unaffiliated voters have been allowed to select ether the Democrat or Republican primary in which to vote. However, this is allowed only with the permission of each individual political party. It is possible to not be allowed to vote in any primary if one is registered unaffiliated.

Candidates who are registered unaffiliated can only be placed on the ballot by a petition that is signed by a certain percentage of the voters in the district in which they are running. In order for anyone to run on any party ticket (Republican, Democrat or other party) the candidate must have registered with the Board of Elections more than 90 days before they sign up to run. This means unaffiliated candidates who wish to run on any party ticket must change their registration before mid-September of 2025. It is almost always better to run on a party ticket even though that party may not endorse you.

The Judicial Wing of the Democrat Party, the politically corrupt Obama judges and the Biden Autopen judges, do not believe that elections have consequences. They will abuse power and grab power to try to suppress the President's Constitutional powers. The Judicial Wing of the Democrat Party is the biggest threat to democracy in America today. Someone needs to jerk their chain real hard, preferably the SCOTUS, and if not then the Congress, or if necessary the executive branch. Their wanton abuse of power needs to be brought to a grinding halt.
