Drug Bust: Heroin | Eastern North Carolina Now

For Immediate Release:

    On September 19, 2013 Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Walter Lee Keel, age 35, of 119 Whichard Lane in Tarboro and Allie Logan Claiborne, age 20, of 1157 Hwy 42 in Pinetops. Their arrests stemmed from Investigators conducting a traffic stop on Keel’s vehicle in which Claiborne was a passenger. A search of the vehicle was conducted and as a result 26 dosage units of heroin packaged in wax paper bindles, two dosage units of Suboxone and used syringes were seized.

    In the month of September Investigators conducted two controlled purchases of prescription pain medication from Keel. As a result Investigators seized 17 dosage units of Suboxone Sublingual film and 23 dosage units of Hydrocodone. These controlled purchases are part of the ongoing effort by Diversion Investigator Greg Rowe, combined with members of the Drug Unit, to combat the abuse and distribution of prescription pain medication in Beaufort County.

    Walter Keel was charged with Trafficking in Opiates by Possession, Trafficking in Opiates by Transportation, two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Maintaining a Vehicle to Facilitate Drug Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Keel was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond set by Magistrate J. Mills. Allie Claiborne was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Claiborne was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,500 secured bond also set by Magistrate J. Mills.

On May 12, 2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Kyle Willis Bailey, 47 years of age, of Washington
On 04/13/2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Officers with the Washington Police Department and Probation Officers conducted a search of Germaine Williams residence located at 829 Boston Avenue in Washington.
On 03/11/2023, Patrol Deputies assigned to the Aurora area served arrest warrants on Anthony Bragg, 32 years of age, of 1824 Bay City Road in Aurora.
On 02/7/2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Shaquel Collins, 29 years of age, of 113 Days Inn in Washington.
