BOC orders Sheriff to not impede commissioners from inspecting the jail | Eastern NC Now

    Never let it be said that we do not give credit where due (you can't imagine how hard our Editorial Team debated whether to say "give the Devil his due") but credit is due the Board of County Commissioners. We have previously said that it is time for them to take the bull by the horns and let Sheriff Alan Jordan know that he is not above the law and must obey it just like all those poor souls that he imposes the law upon. And the Commissioners have taken a step in the right direction by having the County Attorney notify Jordan that he is to not prevent commissioners (any of them) from doing their job.
