But, but Stan you like everybody.
And... are they really young or just young compared to you? The only people I consider young are those still under 30. And, if they are over 30...well you know what they say, "Dont trust anyone over 30." Of course I'll be voting for you Stan, bad hip and all. |

Two things here Washingtonian:
1. These are young candidates, some are younger than others; some are wiser than others. Now here is my one immediate concern: I am very interested, going forward, which of these elected people, here in Beaufort County, will listen to me; all because of just this one reality - I know more, and will know more about how to best govern in their respective offices than they do now, and for some time to come; and, these young elected people need to have the initial wisdom to recognize that truth immediately. 2. Washington: When you vote for me in the 2026 election for Beaufort County Commissioner, you have my promise that I will act in a manner to achieve what I believe to be absolutely best, on all big issues here in Beaufort County, and I will explain why I did so here on ENC NOW. |

Stan, seems we are at that point again in local elections where we must choose...NOT the best candidate, but the lessor or the evils.
Seems that they don't want to work for our vote. When a candidate ignores you while they are a candidate, they damn sure will ignore you once elected. |

All City Council candidates that were non incumbents were invited twice. The first go-round we had three; the second go-round we felt that we did not have enough interest to do the second show, which made rethink small elections like the City of Washington, which is small in number of voters and small in the real size and necessity of that government.
Having said all of this, that one segment has had many thousands of views, so, it should be a benefit to the first participants. As a politician for so many winning elections, I never missed, and will never the opportunity to speak before any group of people, especially opportunities within a medium with as many ears and eyes as encnow.com provides. |

Stan, are you saying that NONE of the other City Council candidates want to come on Table Talk and do an interview??

Befuddled: In recent years, I was in a huge room of recently elected, and re-elected North Carolina county commissioners, where the subject was what is a county commissioner's most valuable asset(?), with that answer supplied by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners being your "county government employees."
Accordingly, as one of the more experienced county commissioners in that session of over 250 commissioners and other county executives, I took great umbrage with that aforementioned assessment of what was most the important of all of county commissioners' most valuable assets, by reminding everyone in that big room that: "My constituents are by far my most valuable asset, and I suggest that you should consider the same." I then received a big round of applause from that even bigger room. Many of these young county commissioners were registered Republicans. I know that because I held audience with many of these commissioners in favor of my assessment after that session. |

1. In a political sense they are all young, and will need some help in managing themselves as public servants, so listening to the more knowledgeable people is most important.
2. My bionic hip is doing great! I was released from PT early due to the success of my consistent, though limited, exercise regime. It appears that I am a minor success story in recovery.
