NC Senate forces Gov. Stein to withdraw nomination of BLM fan for Sec. of Public Safety | Eastern NC Now

Putting a fan of the rabidly anti-police BLM in charge of the state government department in charge of law enforcement would be like hiring an arsonist for the fire department.  Yet that is what ultra liberal Governor Josh Stein tried to do when he appointed Burlington liberal and BLM fanboy Jeff Smythe as Secretary of the NC Department of Public Safety.

BLM was noted for its radical "defund the police" campaign.  It co-founders have admitted on video to be "trained Marxists".  Their agenda is NOT an agenda of keeping North Carolinians safe from crime.

Nominations of cabinet positions in North Carolina now require confirmation by the State Senate.  Conservative senators let it be known that Smythe did not have the votes for confirmation, and Stein has now withdrawn his nomination.
