I'm curious. Does the Council members and Commissioners (and candidates) believe they are here to represent THE people, or rather to represent the local GOVT along with all its depts?

I think WeThePpl are last on the totem pole of concerns.

I want to know as a citizen of the City and the County, do the Commissioners have any Duty/Responsibility to protect me from City corruption? I heard one Commissioner say that what the City does is not his concern.

Also, the City/County purpose paving a roadway for 1.6 million. The Commissioner said: That's a lot of $$. Then another one said well half of that would be the City's part. WELL, the City has no $$. Its WeTheCitizens paying. If the County pays half and the City pays half, then that means, I AM PAYING 100%. Quit being so generous with OTHER PEOPLE's MONEY! Quit treating Money like it's FREE.

At the next Table Talk event with the City Council candidates:
Ask them if they have read and understand all the zoning categories, and rules regarding them. Ask them if they know why such rules exist. Ask what happens when such rules arent EQUALLY enforced? Ask if they know of cases where the city Govt and its staff, has NOT equally enforced these zoning rules? Because such cases do exist.

Agreed. All good candidates, but all three are new politicians, and all three have the great potential to stop thinking as new politicians, and specifically burrow deep into the issues; seize all that low hanging fruit.

All three had good answers and truthfully getting three existing councils out and replace them with these three candidates will be a positive thing. It’s time out for just holding seats. Don’t vote for people because you know them or because of race but vote for the person that honestly care and wants change for all.

Excellent presentation. However, we the people need specifics on where tax payer funds are being wasted and who is being over compensated. Please tell the people what will be eliminated to reduce spending. Red tape covers a lot of territory. Please be specific.

Washingtonian: Duly noted and this question will be asked on the next podcast.

The next time you do Table Talk, ask the candidates this:

What do you (the candidate) know about the City using out of state employment contractors (one in Colorado) to hire people out of the area & state, to perform local govt jobs. These hires do the city's work, but dont work for the city. Bypassing local citizen who also need jobs.

Yeah John Valley, governments need to be very careful how they might abridge any citizens' constitutional rights, regardless of whose money is being used.

The evolving produced, directed, acted, and presented podcast here on Eastern North Carolina NOW begins with its first episode.
However, if one believes that Beaufort County government is in full command of the issues of our times, here locally, one might need to steel their resolve for a more perfect understanding of the intellect possessed by the Center-Left /Left Coalition.
Memorial Day is a time when we as a nation pause to remember and honor the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives in the service of our nation.
DId you vote for any of these politicians that so easily wasted $500,000.00 of the public's money in this incredibly nonchalant manner?
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, there occurred a Special Called Meeting of the Beaufort County Commissioners regarding possible land acquisition for the Beaufort County Schools due to their inadequate planning at the most essential level.
The Beaufort County Commissioners meet each month for one general meeting to do most of the People's business here in Beaufort County, and we present that meeting in full review here on ENC NOW.
For decades in Beaufort County's government, a new chairman and vice chairman is selected by vote each year with only one criteria, constructively that there be a political agreement among certain key elected members of the Beaufort County Commissioners.
