New poll finds many on the left comfortable with political violence | Eastern NC Now

while right and center shun political violence

A new poll finds that those are the left and much more comfortable with political violence than those on the right or in the center.  The poll of American voters was conducted in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk assassination by the British polling firm YouGov.

The poll found that among those who identify  as liberal or very liberal, 42% believe that political violence can be justified, while only 9% of conservative or very conservative respondents felt that way.  For self described moderates, it was also 9%

The poll also found that for liberal and very liberal voters, 34% felt it was always or usually acceptable to be happy about the death of a political figure they disagree with.  Just 7 percent of conservatives and 7 percent of moderates thought it was okay.

Meanwhile the left, which is the side that has been full of hateful, shrill, and extreme rhetoric like calling opponents "facists, nazis, Hitler, threat to democracy", etc, is hypocritically calling on the right to "tone down the rhetoric".

And there are real doubts if there can ever be peace with a violent and unrepentant left
