Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic vow to reject EU forced migrant resettlement | Eastern NC Now

EU plan would require accepting migrants or large payments

ENCNow

The European Union's new migrant resettlement plan would require all EU countries to either accept quotas of illegal alien "asylum seeker" migrants or to make large payments to the EU.  Resistance to that plan is mounting as leaders of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary have all rejected taking any part in it.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban used an event marking the anniversary of the 1956 Soviet invasion of his country to compare EU behavior to that of the USSR and to vow that Hungary "will remain migrant-free".

In the Czech Republic, the deputy leader of the sovereigntist ANO Party of incoming Prime Minister Andrej Babis announced that one of the first official acts of the new government after it is sworn in will be to reject the EU migration pact. "We will not be governed by the EU" he declared.

Poland's newly elected sovereigntist President Nawrocki has also declared that Poland will decide who enters their country, not the EU.  "Poland will not accept any actions by European institutions aimed at relocating illegal migrants to our country." he wrote in a letter to the EU Commission president.

The last time the EU put forward a scheme like this, the then just elected Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz had upset the applecart and derailed the plan by announcing that Austria would not comply.  The plan was withdrawn days later.

The illegal immigration problem in Europe is worse than in America. In some countries, 20 percent of their population are illegal aliens. Crime from illegal aliens is rampant, and most of them are on welfare instead of working. It is the eastern European countries that have held the line, and now the EU wants to force these freeloaders on them, too.
