CNN data analyst: Democrats in bad position and shutdown has not helped them | Eastern NC Now

GOP numbers look good for the midterms

ENCNow

CNN data analyst Harry Enten had some bad news for Democrats.  Not only are they already in a bad position, but the Schumer shutdown is not helping them.  It is helping Republicans.  Enten pointed out that since the shutdown began, polling shows that favorability toward Congressional Republicans among voters had risen by 12 points among their own voters, firing up their base, and by 8 points among independents, pulling the swing voters to their side.  Further the "generic ballot" numbers in polls were the worst for Democrats that they had been in 20 years.
