NC House committee rebukes school district for thwarting parents rights law | Eastern NC Now

Chapel HIll - Carrboro district tried to evade law

ENCNow

How liberal controlled school districts try to evade state law to promote the "woke" agenda was on full display at a meeting of the NC House Select Committee on Oversight and Reform.  In the dock was the school board and superintendent of the Chapel Hill - Carrboro school district.  House Majority Leader Brendan Jones put the hammer down on them at the meeting.

At issue was the school district's compliance with state parents rights laws passed by the legislature in 2023.  District leaders were documented saying that they would not comply, and evidence was produced that they had failed to comply.  Sexually explicit and LGBTQ propaganda books for elementary students that were available in the schools were produced, including one called "Santa's husband".
