Despite MSM climate harping, 2025 saw fewest deaths ever from severe weather | Eastern NC Now

In spite of the MSM playing Chicken Little with repeated dire warnings about "climate change" or "global warming" and apocalyptic consequences, out in the real world that is not what is happening.  One result of that is 2025 being the year that had the fewest deaths in history from extreme weather.  The media narrative is simply wrong.

Even globalist kingpin Bill Gates, a longtime mouthpiece for climate alarmism and big funder of the cause, has climbed down from that position a few months ago and admitted that the climate doom narrative is "wrong".  He posted a 17 page explanation of why he had come to this conclusion.

However, the demands of the climate alarmists are still causing real hardship to real people, including here in North Carolina.  The climate alarmist demands to switch to expensive and unreliable wind and solar electricity are raising our electric rates.  North Carolina, itself, recently saw a 13.7% rate increase request from woke utility monopoly Duke Energy, which sited a "massive generation expansion" of gas power plants as "a reliability response to intermittent renewables".  Because solar power does not function at night or when it is cloudy, foggy, or other weather conditions, and wind turbines don't function when wind is light or even when it is too strong, they have to have expensive backup.  Duke is moving to more wind and solar so they are charging customers to build and operate the gas backup that is needed.
