NC House challenger Darren Armstrong spoke to the Beaufort County Conservative Club but failed to mention a single political issue in his address. Instead, he spoke in generalities about wanting to "represent local people" but did not specify how he would do that any differently than the current or previous legislators. He failed to even mention the word "conservative" in spite of being in front of a conservative audience. Armstrong refused to provide his positions on a single policy or issue that might come in front of the General assembly during his speech.
When it came time for questions, Armstrong was asked about issues, but also largely punted there, being evasive on how he would vote on everything he was asked about. When asked about "green energy" and Constitutional Carry, he made some vaguely conservative statements before saying he was still making up his mind. On shutting down the small independent dairies which provide raw milk, he made strong statements against their product, while also not specifying how he would vote on putting them out of business.. Similarly on legislation to prevent lawsuits against a major chemical company by North Carolinians who get cancer from one of their products, Armstrong was extremely defensive of the out of state chemical company but would not state how he would vote on such a bill if it comes up again.
After answering those questions, Armstrong's campaign manager cut short the questions by saying he had to go to another meeting.

Darren Armstrong has agreed to a full debate with Kidwell at the Washington Civic Center. I';; bet he chickens out since he performed so poorly at the last candidate forum. Armstrong is all about form with no substance and it shows.

Darren Armstrong is evasive about where he stands on most anything, but it is interesting to see which issues he seems to concentrate on.
In response to questions at the BCCC meeting, Armstrong was fairly brief and general in response to questions on gun rights and the Green New Deal, indicating little interest in those subjects. Where he went into great detail, but without saying he was committed to that side was offering purported justification for shutting down the raw milk farmers, and in purported justification for prohibiting North Carolinians who get cancer from products of an out of state chemical company from being able to sue that company over their cancer. Those are key positions of his recruiter for this campaign, Raleigh RINO Jimmy Dixon. Dixon is also anti-gun, being the "hard no" in the GOP caucus against overriding the governor's veto of the Constitutional Carry bill. Even though he claims not to have a position yet, it was clear that in reality he would vote with Dixon to put the small independent dairies which sell raw milk out of business and to deny North Carolinians who get cancer from the products of that out of state chemical company the right to sue them for their cancer. But on gun rights and Green New deal, who knows what he would do? |

Washingtonian, you have no clue what you are talking about. I am no way elite and I have reached out to Keith several times and he always replies quickly and has helped me find the answers I need.

Darren Armstrong seemed pretty allergic to talking about real issues at the GOP candidate forum, too. His website is totally issue-free. "Stealth candidate" is a good description. He wants us to buy "a pig in a poke".
|

Sorry, Washingtonian but the records of the North Carolina Board of Elections show that it is you who are the liar, or at least you are repeating someone else's lie.
NC Board of Elections records show that Darren Armstrong has only made three legislative campaign contributions in his life. All three were for $1,000 each and the recipient of all three was liberal Democrat State Senator Marc Basnight (D-Dare). Those records do not show ANY contributions from Darren Armstrong to any candidate or political committee during the 2022 election cycle. Campaign finance law would require any political committee raising money for candidates to file a report with the state Board of Elections, with names of contributors and amounts. Those would be shown in their records. There is NO report of ANY contribution activity from Darren Armstrong in 2022. If Armstrong made the contribution you claim, it would show up on the NC Board of Elections records, but in fact their records show NO such contribution.. www.ncsbe.gov NO, Washingtonian, the NC Board of Elections is NOT lying. You, or your source ARE. And when it comes to honesty, Washingtonian, you are backing a stealth candidate who will not level with the voters about what his positions on issues are. That is the hallmark of an establishment hack, aka a RNIO or Undocumented Democrat. |
|
YOU lie!
In 2022 Darren Armstrong was of the organizers of a fundraiser event for the GOP and Kidwell because in that year Kidwell said he wasnt able to raise any money. Armstrong put in a $1000 check. This group raised a total of $30,000 and gave $11,000 of it to Kidwell. Stop being such an ass-kisser. Just say NO to Kidwell who is well known to be unresponsive to the average non-elite citizens who seek his help locally. |
|
No wonder Armstrong's campaign manager hustled him out of there when people started asking about actual issues. He did not want to be asked about illegal immigration. Exploiting illegal alien labor is part of the business model of big farmers like Armstrong and his major contributors. They are on the opposite side from the voters on illegal immigration issues.
NEVER Armstrong! |
|
It is not just that he wa a longtime Democrat voter. Armstrong was also a major contributor to Democrat politicians like liberal kingpin Marc Basnight. He is nothing but a warmed over Marc Basnight Democrat. He has NEVER contributed to a Republican legislative candidate for either House of Senate.
