    Ervin Ray Arnold passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at his home in Chocowinity, North Carolina.

    Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Eddie Lee Arnold and Lucy Elks Arnold of Grimesland, as well as his beloved wife June Toler Arnold of 62 years, his brother William Arnold, his sisters Doris Wall and Marie Frizelle, his niece Georgia Wainwright and his nephew Charlie Toler.

    Ray is survived by his brother Bobby Arnold of Raleigh and his sister-in-law Mary Helen Barwick of Vanceboro. Surviving also are nieces and nephews: Willie Toler and wife Elaine; Jerry Arnold and wife Gloria; Laura Lee Honbarrier and husband John; Debbie Audilet; Cheryl Lee Noe and husband Hilton; Jan Elizabeth Fletcher; Lou Barnard; Selena Arnold; and Denise Kirk. His great-nieces and nephews are Blake and Charley Toler; Carlee and Sarah Ray Honbarrier; Margaret, Laura, Barwick, and Baird Audilet; Jackie Sutton, Jesi Kirk, and Alexis Staples.

    After serving five years in the United States Air Force, Ray became employed at Cherry Point Marine Air Station in Havelock where he remained for a total of thirty-six years and retired as the Director of the Industrial Engineering Division. He was active in his community and had many friends and associates in the Chocowinity and Washington areas. Ray gave gracious hours of his time and talents in church work and participated joyfully in the Emmaus Walk and affiliated activities.

    The family wishes to thank special caregivers Megan McLawhorn and Angie Ramsey for their love and support to Ray. Aida and Warren Santifort were faithful and loyal friends not only to Ray but also to Ray's parents throughout many years.

    Visitation will be held at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, March 17 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted at Pamlico Memorial Gardens immediately following visitation.
