Peggy Crawford Bonner Jefferson | Eastern NC Now

    Peggy Crawford Bonner Jefferson, age 75 a resident of Bath, NC died Sunday March 8, 2026 at ECU Health Inpatient Hospice.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday March 14, 2026 at First Church of Christ and will be officiated by Steve Hill.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Friday March 13, 2026 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.

    Peggy was born in Bethel on November 22, 1950 to the late William Crawford Bonner, Jr. and Lucille Peele Bonner. She was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School, where she was in the band and played basketball. She received her Associate's degree from Pitt County Community College. On May 9, 1975 she married Jesse Ronald Jefferson. Peggy worked for WIMCO for 45 years as a project manager administrator, where relationships she formed in the growing business grew into a family. She retired in 2021. She enjoyed reading, going to the beach, sarcasm, gardening, collecting Blue Willow China, and leading her friend group since high school known as the "Yayas". Peggy was a member of First Church of Christ.

    Survivors include two children, Torrey Ronald Jefferson and wife Jennifer of Washington, Mollie Bonner Jefferson Ferguson and husband Justin of Bath, one grandchild, Justin "Gus" Wade Ferguson, Jr., and two sisters, Cheryl "Cherry" Bonner Thomas and husband Jesse, and Barbara "Babs" Bonner Chandler and husband Tommy.

    She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Ronald Jefferson.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, PO Box 8489, Greenville, NC 27835-8489. Checks should be made out to the Service League of Greenville with Peggy Jefferson in the memo line.
