leftie Virginia Governor Spanberger is cratering in the polls after far left start | Eastern NC Now

Abigail Spanberger postured as a moderate during the campaign and mouthed a moderate agenda.  When she took office, however, she did a Jekly and Hyde transformation into a creature of the far left.  Now it is clear in the polls that Virginia voters are not please with her transformation.

Spanberger has gone far left on a wide variety of issues, with the Democrat legislative majority tagging along.  Her start was making Virginia a sanctuary state for illegal aliens. She continued with raising taxes, injecting liberal ideas into education, and major gun control.

Now the first poll in her tenure on her favorability among voters shows her in the worst shape of any governor in recent memory.  The Washington Post has polled favorability of incoming governors in the first few months of their term for decades, and Spanberger's is the lowest ever in that polling.  In these polls, fomer Democrat governors have been _+53, +22, +31, and +11, and former Republican governors have been  +20, +40, +33, and +15. Spanberger is only a +1.

The last time the Democrats tried to play gun control in Virginia, they got massive resistance from local sheriffs and that is likelyy again this time.

In Canada, for example, the Trudeau gun control bill has not gotten much cooperation. Many provincial governments and local police departments have refused to participate. Some provinces have gone even further to protect their gun owners.  The initial "registration" of effected firearms is also being boycotted by the public as 98% of gun owners have refused to comply.  Now the national government is talking about sending retired policemen from other jurisdictions door to door to collect guns.
