Lavetta Mae Ange Jordan | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Lavetta Mae Ange Jordan, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at ECU Vidant in Greenville, NC.

    A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday May 21, 2026 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Marty Alligood and Phil Paul. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Shay Poczontek, Zackry Poczontek, Mark Poczontek, Jonah Jordan, Matthew Jordan, and Ethan Jordan will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Jordan was born in Martin County on November 8, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Henry David Ange and Mamie Mae Ange. She attended Jamesville High School. She was a member of Pinetown Church of Christ. On June 16, 1961, she married the love of her life, Murrel Edward Jordan, and together they raised a beautiful family. She was a homemaker who taught her family the love of God, a strong work ethic and dedication. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, fishing, hiking, shopping, and gospel music. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

    Surviving are her children, Edward Lee Jordan and wife Leona of Pinetown, Patricia Elaine Jordan Poczontek and husband Douglas of Greenville, Kurt Wayne Jordan, and wife Heather of Pinetown; her sister, Janice Corbett and husband Bob of Ayden, brother-in-law, Gene Jordan and wife Debbie of Pinetown; her grandchildren, Brandi Jordan Brooks and husband Tanner, Jonah Edward Jordan, Morgan Jefferson Jannise and husband Clay, Logan Blake Jefferson, Shay Alan Poczontek and wife Stephanie, Zackry Jordan Poczontek, Mark Anthony Poczontek and wife Samantha, Matthew Edward Jordan and wife Kaylyn, Ethan Graham Jordan and wife Natalie, Kaleigh Alexis Jordan, great grandchildren, Weldon Lee Jannise, Bayden Shay Poczontek, Canaan William Poczontek, Raleigh Abbott Poczontek, Bryer Hayes Poczontek, Mark Anthony Poczontek, Jr., Collins Rose Poczontek, Ellie Mae Poczontek, Charlie Kate Poczontek, and Leaven Layne Jordan.

    Mrs. Jordan is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, by sisters, Aleta Faye Ange, Lavaughn Ange West and husband Dale.

    The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Pinetown Church of Christ.
