5 killed, 44 injured in VA in bus crash with non-English speaking migrant bus driver | Eastern NC Now

A migrant driver of a commercial vehicle who could not speak English has killed and maimed Americans AGAIN. This time he was driving a bus instead of a truck. He was Chinese and naturalized but still did not speak English, and had a New York commercial drivers license (CDL).
The crash happened in Virginia when the Chinese driver failed to slow down at a construction site and plowed into slower traffic. 5 Americans were killed and 44 injured. The bus was travelling to Charlotte, NC. Four of the dead were a family on the way to a wedding.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy vowed to redouble efforts to get CDL holders who do not speak English off the roads as unsafe drivers. The efforts of USDOT has already gotten tens of thousands of them off the roads.
