"Mill Pond = Mill Stone?" next Tuesday Night | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Stan:

As you probably know, the proposed Mill Pond wind project is a highly technical matter that has generated a lot of good questions.

Unfortunately the situation has been complicated by some misunderstandings and misinformation.

Here is our attempt to convey the Science perspective on this important issue:

Next Tuesday evening there will be a discussion of the proposed Newport/Carteret County wind project, titled: "Mill Pond = Mill Stone?".

Morehead City physicist and independent energy expert John Droz, jr will outline some technical, economic and environmental concerns of this project, which will be followed by a question and answer session.

This will be of interest to any local citizen who is concerned about the Crystal Coast tourism business, the continued operation of Cherry Point MCAS, coastal environmental consequences of industrial wind energy, the health of Mill Creek residents, the cost of electricity in NC, etc.

It would be helpful if meeting attendees would carefully read the new webpage on this project, before the get-together.

This free event will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening, November 26th, and be held in the main Fort Benjamin Park building, 100 McQueen Avenue in Newport.

Please pass this onto any open-minded interested citizens on your email list.

Thank you for your continued support.

    John Droz, jr.
      physicist & environmental advocate

PS  -  many people voted to see the wonderful movie Windfall, but it just doesn't seem like there will be a sufficient amount of time to do that and cover the material that needs to be discussed. My recommendation is to watch it on Netflix (which is the link I'm providing here).

PPS  -  attached is a map to the public forum site in Newport:
