Will Democrats force Graham Platner out of Maine Senate race? | Eastern NC Now

Earlier this year, Democrats in California were faced with the prospect of too many members of their party in the state's jungle primary, creating the possibility of dividing the vote where Republicans would win both general ;election slots.  When none of the Democrats responded to party pleas that someone drop out to boost their odds, the party establishment went nuclear.  Party activists dropped a scandal on Congressman Eric Swallwell using liberal media sources and forced him out of the race.

Now there are rumblings that something similar may be afoot in Maine to oust their wacky nominee, Graham Plattner.   Already plagued by scandal, the Nazi-tattooed Plattner won the Democrat nomination in the primary. for US Senate in Maine.  There are several weeks left when Democrats could name a new candidate if he withdraws.  Now the word is out that a new scandal is being keyed up in the liberal media to try to force him out.

Like in California, this cuthroat operation is driven by polls.  Last week, the post-primary polls showed Plattner's general election vote collapsing.  He was down to running neck and neck with his Republican opponent.  Tuesday is the last day Democrats can change their nominee, so they are trying to force a change, hoping to get someone who will run stronger.

This is clearly timed by establishment Democrats to force Plattner out of the race, just as they pushed Swallwell out in California..  This is an admitted partisan Democrat making the charge, and it is funneled through the partisan Democrat media at the critical juncture.
