Conservative Congressman Ralph Norman enters special US Senate primary in SC | Eastern NC Now

to fill Lindsay Graham seat

ENCNow

Staunch conservative South Carolina Congressman Ralph Norman has entered the special primary for US Senate to nominate a candidate to replace Lindsay Graham on the November ballot for the upcoming full six year term.  Graham's sister was appointed as a fill-in for the remainder of Graham's current term.  Congressman Norman is a leading member of the conservative Freedom Caucus in the House and has pledged to give strong support to the positions of the Trump administration.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMasters clearly stated that he wanted an appointee for the remaining months of Graham's term to be a caretaker, not a candidate for the full term.  Graham's sister, Darline Nordone accepted the appointment under those terms, but now seems to be in the process of trying to back out of that commitment so she can run for a full term.  She is a political unknown who does not have any record on where she stands on much of anything.  Her whole agenda is being the previously non-political sister of Lindsay Graham.  Graham, himself, has been all over the landscape during his political career, once being so hardline on supporting amnesty for illegal aliens that he was nicknamed "Grahamnesty".

Unfortunately, President Trump seems to be pushing Nordone for some unknown reason.  Breaking her commitment to Governor McMasters to only be a caretaker would not speak well for her honesty.  Hopefully, she will stick to her word.

Ralph Norman is a real patriot in fighting illegal immigration. He is a great choice. I would not want to take a chance on Graham's sister. For much of his career, Graham was awful on immigration issues. He was part of that so-called pro-amnesty "gang" in the Senate, although in the last few years, after Trump got in, he stayed out of immigration issues.
