AI cameras searching for guns, Wyoming gun activists increasingly alarmed | Eastern NC Now

Once again big brother is watching

ENCNow

Although manufacturers of AI software that uses surveillance cameras to search for guns say it makes people safer, gun rights activists are alarmed. Buffalo's Mark Jones, of Gun Owners of America, says it violates the Second and Fourth Amendments.

“And now you have to prove your innocence?” he asked. "That, to us, is very scary and should cause alarm bells to go off.”

Glen Beck had a segment today on his radio show on the threat of these license plate reading Flock cameras to our privacy and freedom, with the big danger being in Flock's collecting all of this data from many cameras and aggregating it for permanent storage in data bases. He discouraged people from destroying or damaging the cameras, as seems to be going on some places, but that this issue needs to be addressed urgently with local governments. He suggested the key safeguard is to prohibit maintaining these records beyond a couple of weeks.

I found one of those Flock license plate reader cameras at Lowes. It is on the south side of the northern entrance, painted all black so it does not stand out. The other is probably at the south entrance. So if you shop at Lowes, your license plate and other data goes into a national database, where it stays permanently, every time you shop there. This is an arrogant disregard of the privacy of their customers.

Piratefan: Why are long pants long? I did not say Washington had 53 flock cameras, I said there were "some". Nothing was sensationalized. One flock cameras is one too many, in my opinion.

A point keeps getting proven here: Even some Conservatives, many of whom are good people with sense about them, have too much trust in what they're "told" by their preferred party of government. They want to believe that government is good and that "stupid" doesn't exist in their realm of occupation.

It does exist and we're surrounded by it..anywhere and everywhere. Bizarroworld is very real and if you think about something, odds are, it has been and is being done...somewhere close by.

Common sense awareness is both uncommon and can be overwhelming when first utilized. Eventually, you get used to flying at 35,000 ft at cruising speed. "Stupid" doesn't exist there. It isn't tolerated.

John Valley, according to the map of these things on the deFlock site, there are only two of them in Washington, both at Lowes. Can you tell us where you say others are located in Washington? What is of concern are the license plate readers that send data back to the databanks of the Flock company, not the common video cameras that are not designed to read and store license plate info or send it off to a mass data base.

Washington has these as well and no one has said a word about it. It's one of those things that got slipped in under the radar....by the BOCO/Washington Autocracy.

They must think we're stupid.

Stalin or Hitler would have loved this technology. Americans, on the other hand, should hate it.
