Trump DOE moves to end Obama regs that treat races differently in school discipline | Eastern NC Now
another DEI scheme shot down
The Trump administration's Department of Education has ended another DEI policy left over from the Obama era. They have repealed a regulation that punished school systems for "disparate racial impact" in their discipline policies. This penalized schools where a higher percentage of one group was disciplined that another group. Schools could not discipline students based on the actual facts of each case because if they did so they would fall afoul of this rule. They had to take note of the race of each student and keep statistics on punishments in balance between races.
