Gov. Pat McCrory took our advice and signed that voter ID bill passed by the General Assembly. Kudos to him. The bill didn't go as far as I would like to see it go, but something is better than nothing.

Many years ago when the TV Guide was the size of a thin paperback, I recall seeing an ad promoting an upcoming documentary. The full page ad showed a picture of a black man and the ad asked "What do you see - a man or a black man?"
