The people voted and didnt want to see more of him. There was a reason for that. He wasnt working for us, he was working for big corporations. By the way, I dont worship politicians, and have trouble understanding why some folks do. But I do know some people think it makes themselves important, if they can rub elbows with people having "titles." Kidwell failed YOU too. I sorry that your whole life seems to be wrapped up in HIS life. Is it possible that your future, is dependent on HIS future?

Well of course my family had personal reasons NOT to return Kidwell to office and it does appears that a lot of other voters also had Personal reasons NOT to Return an encumbent to public office. He didnt do the job the voters hired him to do, otherwise they would have gone with the devil they knew and not take a chance on the devil that they dont know. He LOST! WeThePeople spoke. Get over it...that is unless ya'll share a bank acct.

Well Brabo did, and now it is costing the taxpayers.
That kind of Govt attitude is not one that exist to serve WeThePeople, it exists to assert power over us. It is a kind of govt that is too lazy and arrogant to recognize the needs of the public for law and order. Washington is too little to live under dictatorial powers. Yes, it takes extra work to be a true public servant. Much easier to just ignore the people and dictate to them. File complaints w the State.

Our local govt selectively enforces its rules, depending on WHO you are.
I know this for a fact.
Also, a few years ago the City tore down one of Stan's Deatherage's structures. Yet years later others still stand. One can violate city codes all day long as long as you are one of the preferred citizens.
The City manager will tell you, if you dont like it SUE THEM!

Ya know WITN is asking for publics records, but the pattern in Lenoir Co. is as it is here, they ignore YOU.

CV, I see a pattern, but I'm not sure if th root of abuse is comin from th Sadler Cabal, Kidwell Cabal, Washington Dept head's Cabal, or the Dem Party w its useful idiots. It could b a "union of cabals." When a Dept head says "It means whatever we say it means," u know we hav a citizen abuse problem. When a Council membr says, "if u dont lik th way we do things, hire a lawyer," then u know we hav a citizen abuse problem. When police go & break down an old woman's door on th pretense of doing a welfare check, when all the while all they wanted to do was arrest her for a false "citizen generated" charge (not police generated) where the police lie & deceive th Fire Depts Rescue Squad to go along, then u know that there is a chronic citizen abuse problem locally. On top of all that, we think of th Fire&Rescue as
really good pple, yet NOT ONE of them came back to help that old woman secure her front door. All Council members & committee members
either go along w th tyrants or get abused 2.

CT, some power plants in NC use wood waste to generate power.
That means trees that use to be cut for pulp, to make products, now gets burned up to create electricity. They eliminate our forest. I think the plan is to eliminate people, or at least the middleclass off of the coastal lands of the USA. The City of Washington supports this.

How about some of you smart people try to study the city webpages and how they report. I see a news and an events link, that show NOTHING upcoming for we the people, tho they announce things on Facebook.

Well I watched the City Council meeting Monday. Every miserable torturous minute of it. Its like being waterboarded for hours.
Worse yet, I am totally FED UP with Horton and Perreault
huddled-up throwing all-knowing eyes at each other, Perreault eyeballing his favorite supporter in the audience, &
furthermore, the both of them sharing glances, nods, eyerolling, smirking, & sighing every time Davis speaks. Brabo should try looking to her left because those two are chatting and carrying on like two fifth graders sitting in the back of the room, mocking their teacher (Davis). I am witnessing the kind of petty sick hate for a fellow ELECTED member, that I never thought I would see from those Council chairs.

I know that there are buildings not listed in the tax records, and havent been even before the reappraisals. How does that happen? About 20 years ago, I knew of a whole house that people lived in that wasnt listed in the tax records. Why? Beats me!

So Much is broken locally, it is hard to know where to begin.

Before and just after the Council election, the candidates were anxious to shine sunlight on everything. Now they have hidden themselves in a black hole, where the sun doesnt shine. Everything is done in
secret, and though Davis gives hints at to some of the secrets, it is still only hints.
Did the public scare the new council members into the shadows, or did the Inside-City-Cabal do that?

I'm looking for one of those "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" type of politicians. The County has one of those...he's called Hood.

The manager “shall appoint & suspend or remove all city officers & employees… except the city attorney” ... in accordance w *PERMISSION* by the council.

- The manager hires, as long as the council permits it
- The council sets the rules, & can change who hires what.
The council can legally:
- Take hiring authority back.
- Assign hiring authority to an interim manager or even to an existing Dept Head.
- Create a new position and choose who fills it
- CHANGE THE STRUCTURE so that certain positions report directly to the council.
The council is not locked into the default structure.

There is no statute that says the council must wait for a manager to act.
They are not powerless.
The idea that the council could only act on three positions is incorrect.
The idea that they were “powerless” without a manager is incorrect.
The idea that they had no authority to initiate anything is incorrect.

SOURCES say: A Municipal charter cannot override or diminish authority granted to CityCouncil under NC state law. The charter operates w/in the framework of th GeneralStatutes, not above them.
Under G.S. 160A‑67,146,148
-“govt & general managemt of th city shall b vested in th CC.”
-CCouncil has th authority to “create,change,abolish,&reorganize” offices,positions, depts,&agencies.
-the CM administers th govt undr th general direction&control of CC.

Statutes make clear:
The council is th governing authority.
Th managr is th administrator.
The managr’s powers come from council,not th othr way around.
Council’s authority doesnt disappear when th manager position is vacant.
The charter-section simply describes a council‑manager form of govt,where th council sets policy& th CM carries out admin duties. It doesnt transfer th council’s statutory powers to CM,nor does it
require “all executive action” to pass through a CM.If attempted,it would b invalid bec a charter cant contradict stateLaw

And if anyone were to ask me, I'd say that the City of Washington's Administration had a Fascist core. I use that term because it descriptively fits their activities.

Now, when the Council asked for J.R.'s resignation, I thot he was
being pushed out, but after watching his interview on WITN, he claims he is leaving because a candidate insulted him, that politics had "turned."
However he was revealing that actually he had been exposed & the fog had cleared from our eyes and it was time to get out of Dodge...with the help of the out-going Council to fatten his bank acct.
