I was just asked if the previous comments signed by "Terry" was from me. NO it was not. If I comment on here I will always sign my full name "Terry Williams". I'm never ashamed to stand behind my comments. Thank you for letting me clear this up.

Commented on Some Refreshing Change at School Board MeetingsWell, it was at least refreshing to see that Steve Rader corrected you on your statement that Daniel Hudson and myself was "trying to steal Steve Rader's fire" on suggesting we hire a local attorney. It was indeed Daniel Hudson who brought it before the board after he and I discussed this multiple times. Secondly, your comment that "I stated I would never vote for anyone other than Tharrington and Smith to represent the school board" is grossly incorrect. I stated I would not vote to remove them from retainer but voted to search for a local attorney to use on a day to day basis. Thirdly, your comment that CPS Principal was incorrect on stating that Snowden parents and students are completely happy at CPS, an "A" rated school, shows you haven't been at the school. I've visited the school at least 10 times since August and see how much these students are benefitting. Maybe try visiting the school yourself. Your readers deserve better or better yet watch the video themselves.

Commented on Answer to “Let’s Get it Right!”Rino Hunter - this probably is my last comment here because apparently no one on here is interested in the truth. Where did I say the Snowden discussion was behind closed doors? No where did I say that. Besides if you want to have a transparent conversation then sign your name and stop hiding behind the ridiculous Rino Hunter. So easy to make unsubstantiated claims when you hide.

Commented on Answer to “Let’s Get it Right!”Hood Richardson - You can remind me so let me remind you. Once the Snowden issue was brought up for discussion, which has been a discussion for more than 10 years, I voted for transparency and to allow the voice of the people to be heard. Something you preach all the time until it doesn't fit your narrative. My vote had nothing to do with anyone else's decision or vote. Ask your trusted board member you refer to all the time did I not tell them more than a week ahead of the vote I would be a NO vote. You just can't accept the truth that sometimes people actually do what they feel is right. I'm indebted to no one but those good people of Chocowinity who continue to support me and I will always support them 100%.

Commented on Answer to “Let’s Get it Right!”David Hudson - Just a quick comment in response to your statement saying "the bottom line with the decision to close Snowden is that members of the school board did not listen to the voices of their constituents." Actually that is exactly what I did and why I voted NO to closing Snowden after attending all meetings and listening to all speakers. Yet, on this forum no one will acknowledge this fact. But I do appreciate that you sign your own name when commenting. Wish others on here would follow your example instead of calling folks derogatory names and then signing a fake name themselves. I assure you the good people of Chocowinity and all points south of the river are giving me great support for my decision.

Commented on Let's Get It Right!Great article Donald. Full of the truth which many people can't handle. Here's another truth I find interesting concerning Snowden School. Over my many years on the school board I have visited Snowden dozens of times, attending many events and I've never seen any of these people in the school. Makes one wonder what their motives really are with their complaints. Of course, I will admit it's hard to tell who because very few commenters are willing to sign their real name but choose to hide behind fake monikers. They can't even accept my vote to keep Snowden open as a south of the river representative. Apparently they can't accept that some people do what they believe is right rather they want to make everything political.

Commented on Let Us Not Continue Our Election MistakesTruth matters so get the facts correct. You insinuated I supported the Snowden closing. I DID NOT and my vote to keep Snowden open should prove it. I attended all meetings and listen to all speakers, visited schools, spoke with many residents and parents in my district and came to the conclusion my vote should be to keep Snowden open. That's why I voted as such. I believe that is the way it should work.

Commented on The Closing of S. W. Snowden Elementary School Appears to be a Done Deal – Unless the School Board Grows a SpineStan - I agree with doing the public's business in public. When I speak of who I speak with privately I do not insinuate those persons are board members. I'm speaking of residents and private citizens who contact me per a phone call or face to face. Thank you for the conversation.

Commented on The Closing of S. W. Snowden Elementary School Appears to be a Done Deal – Unless the School Board Grows a SpineStan Deatherage, I'm not going to engage in a public debate with you on my actions. You have an opinion and I can respect that opinion. Who I spoke to privately concerning the situation is not the issue. I serve with many intelligent and thoughtful board members. Just as I approached Snowden, they are capable of doing their own research and making their own decision. In closing I do appreciate the fact that you are willing to sign your name to your responses just as I have.

Commented on The Closing of S. W. Snowden Elementary School Appears to be a Done Deal – Unless the School Board Grows a SpineLet me set the record straight on my vote because a lot of these comments are so wrong. I voted to explore the possibility of closing Snowden because it's been a topic for years and needed to be settled once and for all. I attended every regular board meeting hearing public comments, the forum in Aurora hearing every comment, the board meeting at Southside hearing every comment. I spoke with residents, parents of my Chocowinity school district and walked both Chocowinty schools to get a feeling what closure would mean. I then attended the board meeting on June 3rd to cast my vote. I represent the Chocowinity School district as well as the entire county. In my opinion my final vote to leave Snowden open was what my district, at least all those that spoke with me and contacted me, wanted. It is my job to represent my district and I am very comfortable with my final vote. Nothing political went into my decision. I am my own man and make my own decisions.
