We city of Washington residents just can't catch a break when it comes to governing with some modicum of good sense. We need the new board majority to stick together and make a stand, a stand that even Government Man could be proud of.

DO NOT hurry yourselves into making an egregiously stupid decision!

I am truly sorry that good Conservative Republican candidates like: Steve Rader (who I voted for), and Travis Martin (who I also voted for after I absolutely knew Commissioner Deatherage would make it through the primary) did not win their rightful places to be our nominees for the governing seats that they aspired to seek. I hate the thought of limiting unaffiliated voters in our primaries, but, if the local GOP cannot get its act together, and start functioning as real Republicans, closing the primary only to Republicans might have to be the case here in Beaufort County.

On the bright side, I am thankful that Conservative Candidate Martin is now working with Commissioner Deatherage on his campaign in the general election. I have always voted for Stan since I learned of his true Conservative values and voting record (after moving here from a blue state), but I just could not resist voting for Mr. Martin to help Stan and Mr. Richardson gain a majority of real Republicans on that board, where the fake Republicans, Frankie Waters and Randy Walker, are NO different from the the Leftists. They are truly frauds, and the Beaufort County GOP should have done something about them years ago.

Now, because of Republican frauds like Randy Walker and Frankie Waters we can't elect real Republicans here in Beaufort County, and I hear they were behind it along with that sorry excuse of local political party, the Beaufort County GOP taking up space in replace of a real Republican local party that could do some good.

Learning about Don Brown's candidacy has given me hope that a real conservative, Mr. Brown, could best serve North Carolina's people in North Carolina.

Candidate Don Brown certainly has my vote, and the vote of my wife as well, because my lovely wife learned so much from this Table Talk show.

Yep, I will continue to stand by Stan as he stands up for us.

Stan knows how to take a big punch, for all of us constituents, from those corrupt, possibly evil forces amassed, and then he stands back up, and hits back hard.

I like that in a man that represents me and mine.

I do not know exactly what actually occurred to hasten Alex Pretti's conclusion as a mere mortal, however, being armed amongst highly trained, well armed federal law enforcement personnel at a so-called "Peaceful Protest," where the ongoing "Peaceful Protest" was and is to deter ICE from its appointed duties, certainly turned out to be a bad idea for Alex, the departed.

Can anyone here explain to all of us: Why there are so many RINOs here in Beaufort County, all of them playing their parts to force upward the amount of taxes we all pay, and, furthermore, why does the Beaufort county GOP support these RINOs and disparage the conscientious and wise Conservatives - like Stan and Hood - who work diligently to keep our taxes lowered, and make America ... America again?

Commissioner Richardson: I do appreciate your posts here dedicated to educating the public, and was wondering if you could talk to Commissioner Deatherage about writing more posts about local governing because he too knows how important government is from top to bottom.

Stan, if you are out there; will you please start writing again?

I agree John Steed; but, the question remains: Who will the City find who will take that case to court?
Commented: Wednesday, November 26th, 2025 @ 9:42 pm By: Richard Marvin Butkus
Stan, when I knew you were on board with Nick, I got on board too, because I knew you would never support one of those garden variety RINOs that we are so often plagued with here in Beaufort County.

I am now so happy that Nick will make that much needed difference. Man, we have long need this guy, and now we have him at our service.

Why is this IDIOTIC City Council giving this amount of money to an IDIOT City Manager, who has NO CLUE how to manage a city?

Somebody, or somebodies will have to explain this ... Deep in the Public, they will explain this.

All things considered equal, I will always support any young, intelligent applicant for elected office that has risen from humble beginnings, and yearns to serve the public with honor and integrity.

Commented on Jarvis for Judge

From what I read here, I am impressed by the mantle of integrity that surrounds her, and is her. Maybe Ms. Jarvis can help rid our county courthouse of the bias brought to bear upon our local public.

Why are these purported RINOs owing so much to the "Bureaucrat Class?"

Thank-you Commissioner Richardson for your explanation here.

I have always supported you, and Commissioner Deatherage when you two run for office, because I can trust you two mean what you say, say what you mean, and act accordingly.

I always wondered why the Beaufort County GOP party supported those commissioners that do not act as what I always thought all Republican elected folk were supposed to act.

And then there are the stories about this really big, gruff woman at the Beaufort County GOP HQ that kept telling regular folks that you and Commissioner Deatherage were RINOs, whenever you both ran in your respective campaigns for office, and I knew that was not right.

How can Republicans get so messed up in their thinking here in Beaufort County?

Since you are a "Concerned Taxpayer," I have this one question: Why are there so many elected RINOs in Beaufort County, and can real Republicans do about it?

Charlie evolved as we all do, including how MLK did, so, I reiterate, NO ONE deserves to be killed for their opinions, past or present.

The Intolerant Left obviously does not feel that way, since every Intolerant Leftist hates Free Speech.

Everyone, I had no idea this level of malfeasance existed in the Beaufort County Schools.

It is sad to plainly see that nothing has changed - Real Republicans vs. RINOs.

At the end of the meeting, the RINOs show better their true colors as Commissioners Richardson and Deatherage continue to show theirs: True Republicans - working for the real people of Beaufort County.

On the near eve of football practices beginning all over this Southern nation, good Solid HIT! ... Deatherage. Before this is over, you are bound to put somebody into the political "meatwagon" for that ride into oblivion.

Commented on Let's Get It Right!

In a county, where local governments are pathetically weak, this post by Donald Shreve and the ensuing comment by Board Member Terry Williams, plainly signifies that the Beaufort County School Board may be the weakest link of them all, and that includes the pathetic city government of Washington.

Why do Democraps prefer their leaders to be patently ignorant?

If Hood and Stan are shutdown at Beaufort County Commissioner meetings by two Democratics and two RINOs, what does these antics say about Keith Kidwell and the local Republican party, when they similarly shut down the top two Republicans in Beaufort County?

Yes Sir Stan, I agree with you about keeping it all out in the public so we can see what is all about.

I will always keep my money on you Stan when it comes to doing what is right.

TWO THINGS HERE: 1. From all I read here in Eastern NC NOW, closing Snowden to continue to consolidate schools so children can spend too much of their days riding in busses makes no sense whatsoever; 2. Why is it that so many Republicans DO NOT know how to act like and vote like Republicans here in Beaufort County.

Republicans should always listen to wisdom, and right now County Commissioners Richardson, Deatherage and Dunn make complete sense; listen and vote with them, which the others don't. I have no idea why the other commissioners with an (R) by their name got elected as Republicans; they are Democrats not Republicans.

On the school board, the only one that talks with any sense is Charles Hickman, and at least Stacey Davis is wise enough to vote with this man of good sense and the courage to speak his good mind.

How does this Cheesehead still have a job?
Commented: Friday, May 30th, 2025 @ 11:34 am By: Richard Marvin Butkus
It is my understanding that since the Beaufort County Superintendent works at the behest of the Beaufort County School Board, he not only works for elected school board members, but for the people of Beaufort County by that association as we are their constituents.

Why is it that this Cheesy fellow is always working on his accolades from his peers while here, and his resume for later.

Why does not the Beaufort County School Board manage his performance here now, rather than aid Cheeseman's aspirations for later?

Concerned Taxpayer: I don't know who you are because of your alias, but your words here make a lot of sense to me, especially now that I see how my property value has gone up so much, and I am not alone here.

Why don't you, the person behind Concerned Taxpayer, run for the county commission, so we can get some much needed help for Stan and Hood. I hope that Tandy fellow will eventually be as effective as the Stan/Hood duo, but as you probably already know, we need at least 4 real Republicans on that board to stop the terrible wasteful spending on the county commission.

Thank-you Stan. We conservative Republicans appreciate the job you are doing by watching how our tax dollars are being spent, and how these other 4 fools waste those very same dollars.

You continue to be our representative up there, and we will keep paying attention so we can find a way to you some conservative help.
