Big Bob does indeed drive an electric hybrid. 50 MPG means Bob does not cry when gas prices fluctuate

I got the context lol
I’m saying put your money where your mouth is. If you are an avid supporter of all things renewably green, and if you are so starchily opposed to fossil fuel as you say, then why are you not driving an electric car? Or at the very least a small hybrid, ok I’ll even give you a 4 cylinder. A climate alarmist that drives a V8. There’s a word for this.

I think you missed the context of the post. It was mostly sarcasm. Big Bob would never dump 6 quarts of oil into the river.

Who wants one of those lousy, overly expensive electric cars? Polling in the US shows that a very substantial majority of Americans don't want them. Insurance data in Germany shows that a third of the people who have bought electric cars go back to gas or diesel when they get their next car. Yet Biden and Harris want to force these things we don't want upon us. That is dictatorship.

So when did you get your electric car Bob? You made a comment a while back about dumping 6qts of oil on the ground after a change.
This would not only indicate that you have a gas or diesel vehicle, but being a 6qt engine would also mean you have a full size guzzler. The Coke machine isn’t the only thing you’re getting a “Big Gulp” from at the Wilco. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Jeff - of course all that is true. All the more reason to lessen the dependence. As long as we remain junkies addicted to fossil fuel, we will pay no matter what.
The trick is to get off it. Hard to do, but we should explore every possibility. The idiots that think we should maintain our addiction either work for Exxon or are so hopelessly hooked they cant see straight. Just like a crack addict.

$10....suppose BOb doesn't realize manufacturing, transport, trucking, farming, FOOD DEPENDS on that crack $10/gallon. How stupid...Perhaps HE should be the one that is punished, penalized with NO FOOD.
How does Bob think seniors on fixed income pay for heating fuel this winter or suppose he would have them freezing to death.....

Silly Bobbie, that is not an excuse for the lousy energy policies of Biden-Harris that have massively driven up gas prices nationally nor the scheming local price gougers like Speedway that add a bit more to what Biden and Harris have done to us.
That buffoon Kamala Harris called high gas prices "the price of democracy" but she confuses democracy with the far left climate cult ideology, which is the real cause of what they did to our gas prices.

You fully understand it could cost 10 dollars a gallon and we would still buy it. You get that right?

Speedway (7-11) on east side is the dirtiest store in Beaufort Co. It's a trap for beach traffic. Stopped supporting long ago b/c of the gouging. You could go in & the cashiers never acknowledged you and kept talking, usually drama about another employee. 7-11 should SELL the stores.
Once Royal Farms opens, will be my go-to. At least clean and attempt to keep their stores/lots/pumps well-cleaned and lit. The Duck-Thru at Mkt/15th, another establishment that cares less about cleanliness.

I wonder if Speedway's price gouge on gas locally will stick. As of ten minutes ago, Murphy's Express was still $2.67 a gallon, and had not matched Sjpeedway's $2.99. The Union 76 convenience store across from the police station was at $2.70. Sometimes the pro-consumer stations just refuse to follow Speedway and forces Spreedway's price back down.
Before Speedway bought out its predecessor, Washington used to regularly have the cheapest gas in the area. Since SPeedway came on the scene, that has all changed. Now, very often, any direction you drive you will find cheaper gas - Plymouth, Williamston, Greenville, New Bern. Jacksonville, even at times Nags Head. NEVER SPEEDWAY.

While there are indeed some greedy people at the local level who gouge on gas prices, the major reason they are so high has to do with the energy policies of the Biden-Harris administration. As soon as they got into office, they started going after the oil and gas industry with closing down pipelines, restricting or eliminating access for oil companies to prime exploration areas, and a lot of lesser bureaucratic nitpicking. Gasoline prices responded almost immediately by skyrocketing to this anti-energy administration. Kamala Harris is even more radical than Biden in this policy area. We also have to remember that the cost of energy adds to the cost of everything else we buy. The Biden-Harris moves on energy had a big impact, for example on the cost of food. American consumers cannot stomach another four years of this.
And, yes, I do avoid buying at Speedway.

I saw that latest jump by Speedway, which is ALWAYS the one to jack up gas prices, this morning and swung by Duck Thru, where using my discount card, I bought gas for 36 cents per gallon less than Speedway is charging. I could have saved 32 cents a gallon at Murphy's. I am sure Duck Thru has matched Speedway by now, and perhaps Murphy's, although Murphy's seems to usually be the last one to go up.
The thing to do is avoid shopping at Speedway even if you are running on fumes. They are a price gouger.
