Big Bob: You began the "teamwork" metaphor as yet another one of your clichés, so I used that metaphor to inform you how I well I understand how politics /governing works, even though, as a Leftist, it is probably a concept you cannot fathom.
Let me use another metaphor for you then that is not so clichéd, so you might understand. I will not join in league with the devil for the "best possible out comes for all of us." This is the way I have governed for 26 plus years, and this method continues to work best for me and my constituents.

In football that is true. As as a public servant, I would argue no. Your job is to fight for the best possible out comes for all of us.
In the end we are all on the same team. That is something we all need to remember.

There is an old saying in politics that "ya dance with who brung ya". We have a pair of RINOs on the commission who don't seem to have learned that.

Big Bob: Yet another cliché.
I have played team sports for much of my formative years, and I always played on my team, and I played to win. I do not play on the opposing team. I play to beat the opposing team.

I wonder where the saturation point for fast food restaurants is. That must be the way to go for the Beaufort County economic development wizards. Granting that this pertains to some parts of the county more than others. Although Dollar Generals are found all over.

Sure Big Bob: I have a suggestion since you have so much commentary, so much of the it on the firm side of non sequitur: Try reading the article, construct a real and responsible thought, and then drop the clichéd responses.

Growth is good. Uncontrolled growth is problematic. No reason the 7 commissioners can’t put the grenades down and get something done.

Stupidity is a serious problem here in Beaufort County. Either one wishes to be part of the solution, or they join your Leftist side.

The Center - Left Coalition will be the ruination of Beaufort County if left unchecked. The Beaufort County GOP is in active support of the RINOs on the Center - Left Coalition.
Well, here is a news flash, I AM NOT, and ... I declare war on the utter incompetence of the Center - Left Coalition.

You have the City of Washington figured out correctly. The mayor has a city council of his puppets and his buddies can do anything they want. Cross him, and they will screw you to the wall. It is all political. But the worst thing is the one running it all has not been elected to anything. The mayor's wife is the one who pulls his strings and really has the final say on what happens in Washington.
I have heard that Chocowinity's mayor also has puppets on his town council.

What good does it do to have zoning laws if a city selectively chooses to enforce, or not enforce? I have heard Washington City council members say they believe a landowner ought to be able to do whatever he wants on his own land. No one objected at that city meeting. This was back about a year ago when it showed me that the favored classes get favors at the expense of the neighbors. The City will twist and turn like a worm in a rotting carcass to get it done. If one objects the City will get revenge on you. The City manager sez "what's it to you? Why do you care what they do over there?" Because... toes are being stepped on, that's why. One wins favors, and one loses their rights as citizens. No one talks about it on NOW, because they fear local govt more than they Fear the Federal Govt. Soooo lets keep talking about Newsome's Calif fires.

If the county is going to have an industrial park, they need to have control of who is recruited into it, not a small town that it lies outside of. Maybe the county should tell the town that it will be changed to a solid waste dump if they continue to play games about what businesses are allowed there.
