These radical judges are a disgrace, as are the useless and spineless congressmen like Greg Murphy who refuse to do anything about them. It is a blessing that we have been redistricted out of his district.

Commented on Queen of the Beaufort County RepublicansTBT like the Party Chairperson is distorting the plans of organization: State and County. I don't know if this is being uninformed or being dishonest.
In item 1. It is impossible for a serving public official to resign his ex-officio status as long as he is a serving public official. In item 3. of the State Plan there is only a claim by the Chairperson (and her controversial acting "private investigator" in the shadows) that any of this occurred. Both Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Clark deny all of it. At that time, they were actually working for Mrs. Clark's election in the nonpartisan Washington municipal race. Mrs. Calrk is a Republican candidate. Why are the accused denied a hearing? As always, these pronouncements have been made by the Chairperson, while completely leaving out the Executive Committee and due process. Leaving out the Executive Committee is standard fare for these characters. There is a long list of violations that significant numbers of the Executive Committee want addressed. The leadership has stalled these efforts for months. In the interim, the Chairperson and her group are concocting ways to reduce the number of honest and knowledgeable executive committee members. That is what is going on now. People that will not work in good faith with the rules of an organization should not have leadership roles in the organization. Weak committees in past years have allowed these people to become more and more brazen in their violations of party organization rules. These people did not like the results of the last county convention and the addition of new executive committee members so much that they so far have left the committee out entirely. The only violations I can see are the violations of party rules by the Chairperson and the cabal known as the "Victory Committee." These infractions are very serious infractions.

Commented on Drugs and Questionable SexPoliticians who let the hired help - the county managers, city managers, school superintendents, etc. - run government should be ashamed of themselves. We need hands on elected officials who do not delegate their authority to bureaucrats. These lazy politicians need to be replaced.

Commented on An update from the frontKabuki theater continues at the City Council meetings as pre written motions are prepared by "employees" for the members to read like the rubber stamps they are.
These preprepared motions are Not basic, they contain propaganda? Why do that? Isnt a vote on a straight up issue enough?? Nope because they "employees" want to "manage" our opinions. So why doesnt a Council member ask, WHO wrote this preprepared Motion for me to read? Who, not which Dept? Does the Council member ever stop to think...why am I reading this insertion of propaganda? Why dont I just NOT read that part? Or is the Council under pressure to conform? Sooo not only that but now taxpayer are buying cell phones for th Council at $60 each per month. Do we also pay for cellphones for the CM, the City Attorney, the Dept heads too? TAXPAYERS Want To Know! Also, isnt the County now being sued for activities of Social Services?

Commented on Queen of the Beaufort County RepublicansWow, Hood sure has Ms Garris in his head. I reached out to her to recommend a law firm for a consult for a defamation, slander, libel lawsuit. According to the State Board of Elections, your club no longer exists but you are still raising money. That’s a big no no. The only people you oppose are republicans. Makes you wonder…you are also being monitored.

Commented on Queen of the Beaufort County RepublicansIt seems like Chairwoman Garris & Company are using this illegal and unaccountable "Victory Committee" to plan and spend on pet projects without Beaufort County Executive Committee approval. While doing this they are placing the Beaufort County Republican Party label on the unauthorized actions. They have in effect created a de facto political action committee paid for by the county Republican Party and using the authority of the Beaufort County Republican Party which was not given.
It appears that Garris & Friends are doing what they are accusing others of doing and then demanding innocent people "automatically resign" with no due process so they cannot bring her to account for her abuse of power. She ignores all legitimate committee functions, including hearings for people she says are off the committee because of her pronouncements. She has made a mockery of the plan of organization. The legitimate authority of the Beaufort County Republican Party comes from the advice and consent of the Beaufort County Republican Party Executive Committee and not some secret unauthorized cabal of characters. The things going on here constitute fraud on a multitude of levels. From what I'm hearing, I doubt this can be sorted out without honest outside arbitration.

Commented on An update from the frontNick Fritz, You need to edit what you wrote here:
"The city council does not have any direct access to the local government. The council must appoint a city manager, and the manager is the executive of the government who gets everything accomplished. The manager relays the information from the various departments of government to the council and gives the council advice or takes the council's advice back to the various departments." The State of NC gives the City Council TOTAL authority at all times, even when the city is with or without a CM. The Charter of League of Munipalities does not override NC STATE LAW regarding the authority of the City Council. When you surrender all your STATE given power over to the CM, all you are doing is saying the Council members are too lazy to do the job you promised us you would do. In otherwords, passing the buck. By the way, I think the pledge of allegiance is a prayer. It mentions God twice. "So Help me God!"

Commented on Primary “Elections” ImportanceI have contributed to Keith Kidwell and will vote for him because he stands firm on conservative principles in Raleigh. I would not trade that proven record for a totally unknown quantity who has no record on issues whatsoever. There are too few in Raleigh who fight for conservative principles and we do not need to lose one.

Commented on An update from the frontDavid: The last city council was definitely a "team," and while I am not privy to how the last city council built that "team", it was a "team" nonetheless when they raised taxes 28% in one year.
Beaufort County is 314 years old, and that 28% tax raise for any government "team" within this county, those with the statutory police power of taxation; that exorbitant tax raise must be a record raise ... And it was unconscionable, governmentally feckless, and an incredible sign of gross incompetence. Nick Fritz and Company will continue to have my unyielding support as long as they endeavor to discover and remedy the local corruption of waste, fraud and abuse.

Commented on An update from the frontDavid, have you left Anthony Tyre any similar comments on his Facebook posts? Are you only in the business of kissing his butt? If you’ll look at his Facebook post on December 30, you’ll understand that Fritz’s post here is a response to Tyre’s. Tyre has greatly contributed to the divide and lack of teamwork on the council by blaming, shaming, and accusing. If you truly believe they should build upon their teamwork, don’t you think you should equally be addressing this with Tyre? Someone DOES need to grow up, you’re right about that, David.

Commented on Primary “Elections” ImportanceI did not think you could produce one issue where Armstrong is better than Kidwell, and you have indeed failed to do so, Washingtonian. It is all about personality with you, nevermind the real issues our state and county are facing. I do not know why you are filled with the amount of hate you express, but you are, and that is not good for you or society.
"VOTE for FRESH NEW IDEAS. OUT with the old and stale and in with the NEW" - Washingtonian, that sounds a whole lot like the bill of goods OBAMA and then BIDEN sold America. And it sounds even more like Bernie Sanders. You don't even seem to care what those "new ideas" are. You are talking and thinking like a liberal Democrat.

Commented on An update from the frontDavid, that is the way democracy works. We have a three to two split on the city council, and it is hardly the first time that has happened in Washington. We had a corrupt tax-and-spend regime, the Sadler Sadsacks who were tossed out of office by the voters. Two remnants of that machine are still in place and will oppose the efforts of the Tax Cut Team to straighten out our city. We can expect that. One of those Sadler Sadsacks doesn't even live in Washington, and if he had any integrity he would run in Greenville where he really lives. The Sadler Sadsacks are never going to come toward those who have been elected to clean up the city, and the latter would be betraying their voters if they moved toward the Sadler Sadsacks. Everybody singing Humbaya is not going to happen and should not happen given the chemistry of this council. WE are fortunate that the evil corrupt Sadler machine is history.

Commented on An update from the frontIt's pretty clear that the city council is dysfunctional team. Maybe they should consider some team building exercises. Writing articles such as this, that point fingers and cast blame at the mayor, and other council members certainly don't help bring the team together. Someone needs to grow up, and instead of hurling accusations, start asking questions as to what can we do to come together and do the job we were elected to do.

Commented on Primary “Elections” ImportanceSteed: I'm pretty positive that no one in this forum believes that corruption's non-existent in Raleigh. It's also mind-blowing that some of y'all are giving Kidwell a pass in BOCO......as long as he bulldogs it in Raleigh.
Will you give Garris a pass for overstepping her boundaries or do you not have a comment on that because she's not in Raleigh? The reason why people are leaving the GOP is because of crap like this; you're doing the same thing that Kidwell does when someone says something he doesn't like. He starts repeating the same ol' crap, tries to talk louder than everyone and then storms out of wherever he is at the time. This thread is the definition of insanity.

I miss the days when it was election day instead of election month. Used to be college students away from home voted absentee and those in the military. Everyone else went and voted on election DAY.
Personally I still vote election day. Went to early voting once and they put a number in the book and on my ballot so they could match up the ballot to me. That did not sit well with me.

There is no internal transparency at all. The appropriate time of reckoning was months ago. A significant number of the executive committee is wanting the issues dealt with. The crooked leadership has delayed for months and is now attacking working members of the committee and trying to illegally have them removed. It is not the honest brokers on the committee that are blocking having these issues dealt with. What we are seeing played out before us is the reckoning that will come from people such as this as they delay for the time to erase all opposition. I'm sure the plan is then to move on after leaving a trail of mistreated people, making a mockery of executive committee rules including due process, and running more good people out of the party entirely. The result of this trail of destruction will lead to a local Republican Party even more alienated from honest people capable of recognizing corruption or even caring about corruption at all.
Ignoring and erasing the results of the last county convention while operating in the form of an illegal, unaccountable shadow committee are not the actions of anyone worthy of a leadership position. The gyrations going on over the last few months are the preparation for sweeping these major issues of abuse of power under the rug. What we are seeing here is about as bad as it gets.

Commented on Primary “Elections” ImportanceWhat is going on in Raleigh with the RINOs is not Kabuki theatrics. The corruption of the RINO leadership, especially in the state senate, is quite real, and it impacts real people. Phil Berger's corrupt deal with the CCA to shut down our shrimpers in return for some campaign cash, known as Shrimpgate, is a good example, as is Jimmy Dixon's attempt to put the raw milk independent dairies out of business for payola from a special interest, both this past year, were very real. Kidwell and the House Freedom Caucus played the key role in stopping both of those travesties. So is Berger's NC Green New Deal that is already raising our electric rates and his Obamacare Medicaid expansion that is raising health costs for everyone else. Unfortunately the Freedom Caucus was not able to marshall enough votes on those. The thin red line that sometimes is able to stop this corrupt nonsense is the House Freedom Caucus, and that is why the special interest boys are trying to take them out. How much of this Dixon explained to Armstrong when he came down here to recruit him is questionable as all they really needed was a warm body.
Would Kidwell have been a lot smarter not to get involved so much in the workings of the local party? Definitely. But for people outside the bubble of the party organization, what happens in the legislature has a whole lot more impact on their lives than what happens within the local party organization. One could say, well if Kidwell goes, then Freedom Caucus vice chairman Rep. Ben Moss, could just carry on. The fact is that the same RINO cabal that is after Kidwell is after Moss, too, as well as four other leaders of the Freedom Caucus. They want to put the Freedom Caucus out of business so that no effective group will be there to stop the leadership's corruption. Darren Armstrong is just a convenient placeholder in that process.
