In the 60's when the song first came out, I thought the guitar part was one guy playing. I was in the Navy and sat on my rack, in the barracks, struggling to teach it to myself on my guitar. The guys in the barracks got so sick and tired of me they would yell "Amato......shut the F....up!" I finally got it pretty damned well. And then I saw PP&M do it live and it hit me "Oh my gosh....it's TWO guys!! By then I was doing it as a solo act.

Since we can’t write that story, just be open to those who can. Even if it is painful. Why is that important? It’s how we learn from history. Not memorizing dates etc, but learn. Learning means changing behavior and is exactly how we don’t repeat mistakes of the past.

Fact - some white men are racist. How can you possibly deny it? Is racism a wide spread cross cultural phenomena? Absolutely. Racism is an unfortunate part of the human condition. The dominant culture does not, and should not, get a pass.

Fact - trump has fascist tendencies. How could you possibly deny it? His politics aren't really the issue for me. I object to the attack on our system of government and the abject cruelty of his administration.

The initial draft of the Constitution indicated "born a citizen" to be eligible for POTUS. John Jay (1st Supreme Court Justice) concerned that the requirement was not strong enough, and fearing that a member of the British Royal Family could become President, urged George Washington to change the language to "Natural Born Citizen." A natural American, is one who at birth, is a citizen of only one nation. NOT one born with dual citizenship as Nikki Haley was, at birth.

Not an election analyst, but since no else has stepped forward, I'm going to speculate here anyway.

It appears that Washington has 2172 active voters out of a population of about 9,000. (I wonder how many of the 9,000 are children.)

It appears we have 1265 Democrat voters and 1265 GOP voters.
Since GOPers Ceres & Tex lost, it shows that the GOPers didnt choose them. The GOP mayoral candidate got 899 likely GOP votes. If those same voters had turned out for Ceres and Tex, they would have won.

Lou got 879 votes so it looks like the GOP did turn out for her.

Ellen w 747 votes likely got the city elite votes from the chamber of commerce crowd, both GOP and Dem.

Anyone else want to add their 2 cents worth?

They really need to raise minimum wages from $7.25 because the cost of living is you which included mortgage/rent,food and clothing. The wages should go up accordingly to living expenses. If we can send money to different countries, we should be able to take care of our home states...

Corruption doesnt have to continue. We the local people can all be watchdogs over the City Council and City manager activities. We dont have to go back to sleep regarding city issues.

Even just a week before the election most conversation here was about National and Global issues. Our hair should have been on fire about local issues...but it wasnt.

In addition: I would like to see an analysis of the voter turnout. For example how many registered voters of each party sat it out.

Democrats have implemented fraudulent election practices for the purpose of fixing the results of our elections since at least 2016(as evidenced in Miamidade and broward county,that was a test ground for the fraudulent election racketeering they implemented in 2020 in 5 different critical states for the purpose of changing the out come of the election in their favor) in 2016 they believed they could do t for Clinton and had assured her she would be victorious thru their efforts. All that happened showed them they had to be prepared for a higher voter turnout with more fraudulent ballots ready to be cast in illegal manners. They were successful in stealing the election and more importantly got away with it. It will happen again this next election and until the democrats in control are apprehended and punished for the crimes they are committing, our country and the freedoms Americans enjoy will be stripped of all semblance of a free democratic republic.

I am deeply concerned by what DPS is telling the House of Representatives in Austin. They say that there isn't all this crime going on out here. They say that because the colonias basically shut down when they came. It was like a ghost town the first two weeks they were here. The only traffic on the roads were cars with trailer loads full of household goods like they were moving or U-Hauls. We had none of our normal traffic, the weekend vendors are not there anymore, and we're not here in the automatic gun power every night. I don't mean any disrespect to the DPS gentleman that spoke in Austin but he is wrong. This is not a safe place to live nor is it a safe place to raise your children. I've been watching this issue going on since 2015. I have written representatives in Austin to know avail. We've written to Liberty County commissioners to no avail, the same with Montgomery County. Colony Ridge has bought and paid for all of them to keep their mouth shut or face retaliation.

John, FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT. I have seen so many talk about the rate decrease and blame the county for their tax increase. The average taxpayer does not understand what you just put in plain English. Well done sir. Now get on Facebook and shut down the misinformation coming from all directions on how this works, lol. The City increased taxes without providing more services. It is about like when they increased the rate .02 to save for the police station. They were supposed to give it back once it was built. Did they do that? NO! So that's an extra .02 that was diverted to fund their other pet projects and misuse of tax dollars.

It would do you some good to look at the budget before assuming. The $1,134,319 increase from FY23 to FY24 was without SROS. The funding for SROs was already in the budget for the county. It just simply moves the expense from the schools to the Sheriff's office. I agree. The SROs was a big win for taxpayers. If you are fine with the irresponsible spending coming from their office, vote accordingly. Good stewards don't buy their desk staff $500 suits on the taxpayer dime. They don't throw $500 retirement parties for their dogs with the tax payers money. They don't stay in $350+ a night hotels when traveling on the tax payers dime. All of this is public information. Maybe you should look into it yourself before taking everything at face value.

He may have sold them to the Housing Authority, but to claim that he bought them after making a motion is simply not true. Those lots we purchased in 2012, DB 1778, P113.

My son is severely disabled and no one wants to help him since we came to NC. In NY he received Medicaid based on his disability not income. Unfortunately we can’t afford to live in NY because we are retired and living on a limited income. I currently have 1100.00 in medical bills I cannot pay.

My son was adopted in NY and we received an adoption subsidy through NYC instead of Social Security disability. He was shaken at 2 1/2 months old by his foster mother. Because of this we were told we were not eligible for Medicaid even through the pickle act. Please help us help our son he cannot receive any services without it
