Commented on Washington, N.C., Deserves Better Than ThisI just want these guys in the Conservative Coalition to stick together. There is no good reason why they would not.
Joe Davis may be a little green in spaces, but all young, immediate politicians need seasoning, learn the real ropes ... At least at some level of better understanding and growth. What matters is whether their ideological hearts are in the right place, and I am satisfied that Councilman Davis's political heart is solid.

Commented on Queen Garris Does it AgainVant Zant: 'If one cannot dazzle them with brilliance, they can always baffle them with B.S.'
In what I do (actually everything in my worklife), and what Hood does (actually everything in Hood's worklife), there are technical parameters that must be dealt with to get things done, while staying out of trouble. In my governing work-life, since coming back on the board of county commissioners, is trying to get things done as a Real Republican, while in the minority serving against 5 Democrats from 2018 to 2022, and now against 4 Democrats since 2022 until now. Alternatively, the constant parameter that Beaufort County GOP RINOs and RINO Whisperers advocate is to provide great advantage and succour for the Democratic RINOs serving the Center-Left here in Beaufort County. For the Democratic Socialists, they have stopped running candidates because the local GOP does that for them; a salient fact that the Beaufort County GOP refuses to recognize.

Steve: You are right about spreading the search parameters regarding a manager. If I am ever in a situation where I am partly (as a minority member) in control of hiring a manager, I will push for this dual approach to finding that good manager.

Commented on Queen Garris Does it AgainGary, you seem to have forgotten the RINO element that is a governing desease built upon a fraud that plagues Beaufort County's tax payers, all perpetrated by a corrupt Beaufort County GOP.
Gary, if you were a Real Republican governing as a Conservative on this, and all previous Beaufort County Commissions plagued by the RINO element, you would understand what Commissioner Richardson and I have dealt with all these many years of these far too many many Center-Left /Left (those who swap votes to share power) frauds posing as something that they are NOT - Republicans.

Commented on Queen Garris Does it Again"Real Conservative" is a misnomer for any RINO that usurps the good work done by Real Republicans, who worked to limit government, by lowering spending and eliminating corruption, waste fraud and abuse. "Real Conservative" you do the Republican Party a disservice by masquerading as what you are not: You are NOT "Real," as you are here hiding behind an alias, and you are NOT a "Conservative" as you only support RINOs in local elections. This is the MO of the local GOP, and that notariety is widespread, as was confirmed to me often during the 1st District Convention held last Saturday.
Taxpayers of Beaufort County: If your taxes went up far too much last year, it is because of petty frauds, like the fake "Real Conservative," who operate in a corrupt manner within the Beaufort County GOP to only support RINOs, and possibly RINO Whisperers in local elections; those fake Republicans that vote for every spending increase, and support every tax increase, and that is why the fraud, announcing herself as "Real Conservative," considers Commissioner Hood Richardson an "ineffective Republican," which he certainly is not; never was; never will be.

Commented on Queen Garris Does it AgainAs I observe the uselessness of the Beaufort County GOP in their plaintiff defense of their RINO element, all part of their proposed "Big Tent" circus, there are multiple ad hominem attacks levied against Conservatives, here in this publication, charging the great reveal of their incompetence was all begun by the 'ad hominem attacks' by Commissioner Hood Richardson.
By contrast of these subsequent non sequitur attacks by local GOP RINOs, The Hood's opening salvos were, and continue to be aimed at richly targeted zones, the blast of his attack of these bullets of truth landing in a tight, and most distinguishable pattern.

Commented on Queen Garris Does it AgainTruth Be Told: I attend the meetings to make a difference, but the difference is impossible when RINO corruption gets in the way of actually having a real meeting, where the work gets done, and right now the so-called Beaufort County GOP is doing NOTHING to aid real Republican candidates in the upcoming elections; for instance - getting out the vote in the recent primary, where the Republican Party here in Beaufort County did absolutely NOTHING.
I, and other keen observers, could easily argue that the planned complacence by the local GOP aided in hard-working Representative Kidwell losing his primary, and school board incumbents, like competent Steve Rader, being replaced due to an onslaught of Democrats switching to Unaffiliated to pick the Republican nominees to serve as our candidates in the general election. One has to reckon: How many of these Democrats-turned-Unaffiliated-taking-Republican ballots barrelled to the polls to vote for Keith Kidwell, or Steve Rader, or Travis Martin, or Stan Deatherage or Charles Hickman (with only Hickman and Deatherage surviving the primary)? NO, there is little difference being made in every stretch of the political /governing paradigm by Beaufort County GOP, in which their obvious plan appears ambivalence, or worse, toward all local candidates waxing conservative.

Professionally, I been working this governing thing for a very long time, and my learned path is very much alien to your concepts, that path of Stan being this well developed ideal: I despise all politicians stupid and dishonest, which seems far too often to exist in tandem in these times. Maybe, your just being consumed by what is "woke" has seriously clouded your brain on matters of what is real.

Commented on Washington, N.C., Deserves Better Than ThisIn contrast to the City of Washington's hustle to bring forth a new city manager, Beaufort County's Government has also tentatively selected a new county manager, and it is my understanding that the prospective county manager candidate has agreed to the negotiated terms offered by a consensus of the Beaufort County Commissioners
The actual public reveal of said candidate, and probable finalizing vote in the affirmative of that selection will be accomplished at a future public meeting, where all will be publicly divulged, and a public vote taken in hopes of a successful conclusion of a process that will take over 8 months to conclude from start to finish.

Commented on Queen Garris and Free SpeechI am sorry Rational Observer; you make a good point here in you last comment; and at first blush, I thought you might be one of the RINOs within the structure of the Beaufort County GOP, who wakes up everyday bent on destroying Hood Richardson, and by association, "Your Truly." For myself and The Hood, there is no true Beaufort County GOP, and there has not been for more than a decade, but that is another long story that is not worth wasting anyone's time over ... Not yet.
Hood is a smart man and he is an honest man, and those two qualities are hard to find in politicians. Hood also often views issues in black and white, which is the intellectual construct of successful civil engineers. I know this from experience, as I was once a young surveyor, who has worked projects for CEs, and they were always very sure about what they wanted as an end result, but how they achieved their directive was often different; however, in the final analysis: They were Hell-bent to achieve a finite end, and I have always respected that about civil engineers. Maybe, this helps me understand The Hood, his value as a public servant, and how necessary he is to contrast Real Republicans from those that are fakes, which are in great abundance here in Beaufort County ... Mostly because the local GOP not only allows it, they support well the RINO amongst us.

Winning over Beaufort County RINOs is an impossible task. This I know from tremendous experience, and I am not Hood, so don't throw Hood in your tiny box of 'Hood just does not kiss up enough to our favored RINOs on the Beaufort County Commission.'

Commented on Washington, N.C., Deserves Better Than ThisBill: The problem for the City Council in hiring so quickly without deliberating anywhere near enough is multi-fold; however, the most important piece to that puzzle is that if the guy does not work out, it becomes very expensive to the taxpayers to send him packing because of the contract that they will all sign giving such an elaborate severance package, which is becoming the norm in hiring managers.
I hear it will be grand in scale; just like the last guy.

The Non Patriot Left, which is a growing faction within the Democratic Socialist party, made BLM (Black Lives Matter) into a sociological imperative as a litmus test for all Liberals who were not able to truly think for themselves.
All a few terrible years of Leftist condemnation for everyone that did not bow and pay homage to Black Lives Matter (BLM), when enacting sociological policy at all levels of governing, we learned that BLM was just a front for the fraudulent practice of stealing money, and was NEVER about Black lives mattering.

The leaders within the Democratic Socialists are liars, thieves, and Non Patriot things bent on one maxim: To deceive the public, and educate them to the point of incredible ignorance. The United States fundamentally needs a long series of seriously smart politicians (which we have the beginnings of NOW) serving our Good People by employing the foundational support of our Founders greatest gift - The United States' Constitution - and once we get ourselves fully straightened out, by first overhauling our incredibly misguided education industry, we should and could start cherry picking our neighbors to audition them to become our next states.
Alberta, Greenland and Cuba come to mind. Maybe one day Mexico to finally secure our southern border, and fully win the real War on Drugs.

I am going to offer a counter argument on the real population of Beaufort County: It is growing. How do I know this?
I have estimated a great increase traffic, and the electorate roles of registered voters, which suggest to me that between 57,000 and 64,000 humans, including Illegals, actually live in Beaufort County. If a true census was performed, I believe that difference in population would shrink.

Commented on Idaho passes strongest bill protecting single sex bathrooms and locker rooms in the country.I remember HB2 here in North Carolina, and how the NCAA elected to not hold the National Finals in Charlotte because the Non Patriot Leftist initiative was to allow men to piss, shower and shave where young girls frequented to do their natural business. This issue was the beginning of men playing in women's sports at all levels of amateur competition.
RH, if you say Berger had a non interventional hand in HB2 being struck down, I have to wonder: Why has it taken us this long to rid ourselves of Berger? HB2 was the political hill where politicians do final battle, and rise victorious ... If they are smart.

Ashley: Nope, not me. This is all Hood, or the Beaufort Observer team, which is a separate entity from me - Eastern NC NOW.
I currently have plenty on my plate, and do not need any "saving," especially since my "ilk" respect the fact that I have never voted to increase wasteful spending, or taxes in the 25 budgets that I have participated in as a Beaufort County Commissioner, a reality that no other Beaufort County Commissioner in the history of Beaufort County can claim, except one other than myself ... And, that would be Commissioner Richardson - The Hood (29 budgets governing as a Conservative). Eastern NC NOW allows all written positions here, and will allow the well considered position of the Beaufort County GOP whenever it wishes to come clean with all that needs to be told to this publication's readership ... Just to set the record straight, once and for all. Just a word of advice, as someone who has won this seat seven times as an governing advocate for my Constituents, your false flag comment - "You two have allowed the people to have their taxes doubled or even tripled in many cases" - regarding my commitment to properly representing my constituents suggests here that you are intellectually removed from the truth, and that is a poor position for a candidate to place themselves in if they are truly serious in the honest debate to gain the right to serve the good people of Beaufort County.
