"The Four Horsemen" played a big game, with great sums of money bandied about, and, accordingly, huge notoriety to continue to do what they loved, and were committed to achieve. Their game and a series of illusions created by them, and their commitment to see it through was admirable, and, moreover, necessary.

"The Four Horsemen" built the illusion, invited us (the audience) in, and we participated as well as we could manage.
Ensnared by their illusion, curious to understand that entrapment and determined to see and understand to make sense of the story in the film was the audience' participation toward the "pledge" and thus the "turn" of this film was fulfilled, and satisfy the third component any grand illusion, the "prestige", did occur and served as the perfect climax of this 115 minute film. To the creators' credit, that story, well acted, and told convincingly was the final puzzle piece that fell into place making every minute of my time well spent and quite rewarding as one entertained.
