Obituary: Mildred Elizabeth Carliles Wright | Eastern NC Now

Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Carliles Wright, 83, a resident of 101 Village Circle, Washington, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Ridgewood Manor.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, conducted by Derik Davis.

Mrs. Wright was born in Wayne County on Dec. 5, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Carliles and Mammie Wright Carliles. She worked in cotton mills where she met her husband, Harvey D. Wright, Jr., who preceded her in death, Oct. 7, 1986. Later, Mrs. Wright worked in a cleaners in Newport News, Va. and retired as a desk clerk at Washington Hotel.

She is survived by her sister, Mary C. Shaffer of River Trace of Washington.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucy C. Hanford, Lillian C. Turnage, Gladys C. Pigg, and Mable C. Pollard and three brothers, William Charles Carliles, Freddie Ray Carliles and George Carliles.

The family will receive friends Friday at the home of her nephew, Marvin Alligood, Jr., 116 Hillcrest Drive, Washington and Saturday at the home of her niece, Judy Picard, 206 Ridgewood Lane, Washington.
