    Do you agree that food tastes better when cooked or eaten outside? Come to the ECO Lodge for an interactive cooking demonstration with our director. Learn about seasonal foods, preparing food for outdoor cooking, and get a few great recipes! Dinner will be served following the demonstration. *Dinner on April 12th will be from 5-7pm.

Spring Is In The Air! Flower Press Making
Thursday, April 14th / Thursday, May 12th 2011 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm $5.00

    Don't miss out as spring blooms all around us! Learn the basics to good flower pressing and suggestions for using your pressings. Each participant will have an opportunity to construct and decorate a personal flower press to take home!

Kayak ECO Tour
Sunday, April 17th / May 22nd, 2011 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm $15.00

    This will be a fun afternoon on the river, with a close look at the Pamlico River and some of its tributaries. We will look for dolphins and river otters in the water, mammals such as fox on the shore, and osprey and eagles in the sky. Kayaks and Canoes are included.

    Interested in attracting more birds to your yard? We will learn about different birds and bird feed, and construct one for you to take home for birds to use.


Animal Signs and Tracks
Thursday, April 21st, 2011 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm $5.00

    A variety of ecosystems can be found on the interpretive Nature Trail at the PotashCorp ECO Lodge, maybe even a similar ecosystem to the one found in your backyard! Take this opportunity to learn more about your backyard while exploring ours. We will spot tracks, identify animals from their tracks, and then learn to make molds! Each participant will have an opportunity to make a mold of an animal track to take home.

GPS Scavenger Hunt
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm $5.00

    Come walk the beautiful trails at the ECO Lodge for some exercise and good ol' competition! Bring a buddy, and some friends to compete against. We will explain how to use the GPS units, and then send teams out searching for hidden treasure! Each team will have a trail map, a list of clues, and a GPS. The hunt is always different, so don't miss out!
