Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Beaufort Market Place Set to Become Washington's New Go-To Shopping and Business Destination

Washington, NC — June 18, 2025 — The Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to sponsor a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Beaufort Market Place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Join us for refreshments, and special surprises as we unveil a dynamic new hub for shopping, entrepreneurship, and community connection.

Located in the former Mount Olive University building at 4525 US Highway 264 in Washington, Beaufort Market Place is more than just a retail destination—it's a launchpad for small business success. With over 18,000 square feet of upscale retail and office space (with plans to expand to 40,000 sq. ft.), the marketplace is home to a diverse array of local vendors offering everything from fine art and antiques to handmade goods, gourmet foods, home decor, unusual finds and beyond.

Built to support both new and established entrepreneurs, Beaufort Market Place offers:

  • Flexible booth and office rentals
  • Short-term leases tailored for startups
  • Access to professional business support including sales, marketing, and bookkeeping assistance
  • Real-time, mobile-accessible accounting systems
  • Future opportunities for online sales and nationwide shipping

In partnership with the Small Business Center at Beaufort County Community College, vendors will have access to expert guidance from both educators and industry professionals—helping turn ideas into thriving enterprises.

"They are not just opening a building—They are opening doors for small business. Whether you're a first-time vendor or a seasoned business owner, their goal is to give vendors the tools, space, and support to grow."

With the collective Synergism of over 90 vendors currently in place, Beaufort Marketplace currently offers approximately one million dollars in merchandise to choose from. Truly a place to explore and enjoy.

Situated on a high-visibility corridor with a 20,000-car-per-day traffic count and ample parking for over 200 vehicles, Beaufort Market Place is designed to attract locals and visitors alike.

They invite the entire community to celebrate on June 26 at 12:00 pm and experience the beginning of something truly special for Washington and Beaufort County.
