If you don't like your job... | Eastern North Carolina Now

Editor's note: Every working American should read this!

It's interesting. As we watch the Obamacare implementation fiasco play out, the ineptitude of the people who specified, designed and built the site is simply amazing.

Clearly the Anointed One did not use the same folks who were used when his campaign built the detailed data base which allowed them to focus on individual households and encourage them to vote (for him) in the 2012 election. That strategy allowed the campaign to maximize the benefits of their advertising budget and surely was a major determinant in his reelection to a second term. It's too bad they didn't use those same folks when they developed the ObamaCare web site. Unfortunately for the Anointed One, the team which engineered his 2012 victory seems to have not been available. It was either that, or no one of any stature on the team had been a classmate of Michele in an earlier life.

It is truly unfortunate that the Administration doesn't seem to care nearly as much about maximizing the benefits to be derived from the hard earned taxpayer money they spend as they seem to have demonstrated during the campaign when using "their own" funds.

All that aside, the real travesty is the latest "spin" that the Dems are using to try to get more people to sign up for Obamacare. They are suggesting that Obamacare is their way out of jobs they may not like and into early retirement. They will be able to leave their job while keeping their health insurance (Where have we heard that last part before??). Between their subsidized health insurance, food stamps, ObamaPhone and all manner of other taxpayer support, people will not have to work in a job that they may not like. They can quit the job, retain their health insurance, and stay home to take care of their kids or pursue a career as an artist or entrepreneur or whatever.

The spin doesn't just verge on the outrageous. It is outrageous!! Democrat Congressional people telling the populace that the great Protestant Ethic that made our country into the greatest power on earth is no longer operative. Anyone who isn't happy with their lot can now (under Obamacare) quit work and do other things; things that will make them happy. Whoever feels like it can take it easy and do what they like while they let working Americans with ambition and a desire for a better life for themselves and their children pick up the tab. (That last part about "picking up the tab" is my conclusion because none of the Dems have even mentioned anything about who pays for "La Dolce Vita".

What a way to get the "low information" voters into your tent. Do you suppose that's why the Dems are so against Voter ID - so these newly minted low information voters won't have to identify themselves before voting?? Hmmm...

On top of the outrage comes a truly great sense of sorrow. How could anyone with even an ounce of character possibly suggest that people, no matter how needy, are entitled to quit work and pursue whatever activities will make them happy. In effect they can retire without having ever earned a retirement and "live off" honest, hardworking taxpayers. What in the world has our country come to??

It is bad enough when we hear the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Charlie Schumer and a whole lot of other Dems spouting these talking points. The question that is unanswered is, "Who are the Staff people who dreamed these talking points?? These unelected folks already write most of the papers we see their "front men (and women)" reading (frequently not very well) on the evening news or in front of an empty Chamber simply to get something into the Congressional Record - or into the local news broadcast at "home"... Your government at work..

If you don't like your job, you can take early retirement...

John Galt!! Where are you when we need you??

    D'ya think??
