Original sin reconsidered | Eastern NC Now

I have finally had my chance to review the same-sex attraction of the female Presbyterian minister.

I have finally had my chance to review the same-sex attraction of the female Presbyterian minister. Here is my post regarding it.

There is a somewhat mixed message here. I can understand the bi-sexual urge. At this point she is saying that she remains faithful to her husband. That is good for the Bible is clear about adultery---or is it? I have been asked to preside over divorced people wanting to re-marry. No other Baptist in that SC town would honor their request so I told them I would study the matter and talk again the next week. What did I find?

What I found was the Jewish law which provided a man to come home to his wife, present her with a certain legally prescribed declaration in writing and the were divorced, whether the wife was willing of not!

Jesus spoke clearly to this practice as "legalized adultery." But what if there were a broken relationship and one or both partners did their best to resolve the issues with no success? Here the Bible is not direct from Jesus.

What is obvious from Jesus it that he forgave a woman "caught in the act of adultery." The crowd was ready to stone her to death. Jesus simply invited any who were "without sin" to cast the first stone. The crowd dispersed. Jesus gave her forgiveness when she was sure he would cast her out as well.

You are now in a position to draw your own conclusion. I have

and I don't see the point in taking what God has created and insisting it be molded into our southern conservative mold. In the south we make big noises over "queers," but we all know at least one. The are talked about behind their backs, but tolerated. The SBC has come out strong as well as the NC Baptist State Convention to the point they refused to take gifts from churches honoring or ministering to homosexuals.

That is about as judgemental as it gets on the part of Baptists so: "Judge not that ye be not judged." I leave it in God's hands to deal with every person about "sin."

That IS my greatest concern. I worked with a hidden male homosexual once who was the Senior Minister. The damage his hidden actions did to his wife and son, other males, the church he served was UNCONSCIONABLE in my view. Had a Staff member once who was a girl/woman-chaser. Same problem when unbridled lust enter the life of any minister! They were both "winsome personalities." The Bible doesn't speak about being "winsome." It gives a moral code we are wise to follow. I call it "The Jesus Code" as opposed to just the 10 Commandments---none of which addresses homosexuality, by the way.

She knew her orientation at 16 years old: the age of consent in NC.
She has deceived others. That is the problem not her orientation.
