News Release:

On Friday morning September 5th US Congressman Walter Jones released through his chief of staff a resounding endorsement for Mattie Lawson for NC House of Representatives for District 6. In his words: "Mattie Lawson has what it takes to be a great State Representative. Mattie is a fighter for people and their constitutional rights. I support her candidacy and look forward to working with her on behalf of the citizens of Eastern North Carolina." -Congressman Walter Jones

Lawson is competing for the District 6 seat against incumbent Representative Paul Tine, Democrat. In the 2012 race Lawson narrowly lost the District race to Tine while handily bringing in the majority of votes for both Dare and Beaufort Counties. The counties in the District who voted for Tine in 2012 were Washington and Hyde.

Lawson is the grassroots candidate representing Constitutional advocacy that leads to less intrusive government including protection of our private property rights, insurance premiums based on factual loss history, unencumbered recreational and commercial fishermen struggling to keep their jobs and an end to the oppressive Common Core standards on our vulnerable children.

In April this year Lawson was recommended by the Grass Roots North Carolina - Political Action Fund (GRNC-PAF) and the on-line newspaper The Beaufort Observer. She was endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus of North Carolina in May 2014.

Lawson resides in Kill Devil Hills. She is a small business owner. She retired from an engineering position and Six Sigma expert in Northern Virginia in 2005. Her expertise is defect reduction and lean processes. She has been active in the North Carolina Republican Party and the Dare County Republican Party in numerous elected and other volunteer positions for many years.

Elections have consequences. Please, become educated about the history of your candidates. Turn out to vote for those who will safeguard our common sense founding principles and stop the hemorrhaging of our hard-earned money through abusive penalties and excessive taxation.     Reclaiming the Dream,

     Mattie Lawson
GOP Candidate for NC House District 6

Thanks Gene.

The one thing I despise as much as a liar is a coward. I have no problem with folks speaking their truth, irrespective of whether I agree with it or not; however, a coward is one that will not stand behind their words, and therefore, they know no truth.

Thanks for your editorial vigilance, Stan. During this election year, you probably have the most hot seat in America. No matter what you do, somebody wants to hate you for not agreeing with them to a fault!

Let's throw some mud of a personal sort, shall we????

Publishers note: Thank-you for your comment Gene, and as a matter of explanation as to why your comment has no reference point, it is because I deleted the first comment attacking Mattie Lawson's person; not because Mattie is a friend of mine, but because the comment was made by someone, which I believe is an alias, who will not identify themselves to me as BCN's publisher, which is my policy.

When one uses fake names, I will know who you are. That is my longstanding policy. One only gets so much anonymity at BCN.

Thanks again Gene for all your comments here at BCN, and I am proud to know you.
